My website will not work with google because of SSL Certificate problems Bluehost has not resolved after talking to three different representatives and a referred SiteLock Representative. I got an upsell that will total at least $354 yearly without any basic resolution of the problem I telephoned about. A Bluehost tech representative is given 72 hours to resolve the issue. It has been longer than 72 hours.


So you need to be careful before you commit. I alsodon'tt appreciate their having to pay almost $80 to access thwalkthroughgh video of their services, when most hosting companies offer this for free. With all that said, I´ve been happy with the service as far as uptime and the level of security features available to implement. Overall, there´s no denying that Bluehost offers great value for money.

Bluehost India did not refund my money under 30 day refund policy. They said that since I had cancelled a plan 3 months ago, so cancelling another plan now is violating their terms and policy. They also said that I abused the system. They just don't want to refund the money hence they are giving false arguments. I contacted Bluehost US team but they said that this matter involved Bluehost India and hence they cannot help. This is total crap and totally wrong. They just don't want to refund the money. Please do not use Bluehost.

They will make you pay for their own mistake. Charge us 1 month for the same subscription we had after calling them way ahead of time to downgrade our subscription. On top of that if you want to refund from your disputed charges deal it the same day because if they tell you they left a note so when you call back again they will know what's going on in your account FLAT OUT LIE. The next person you will talk to will say that the other person you had talk to the other day was wrong and they did their math this suppose to be the charge. ( refund become more lesser than expected maybe if you call again on the next day your refund will become zero. Every person have their different calculation.) and they will tell you they don't know how that representative come up with the noted amount ( that's after 20 mins. Waiting ). As if we come up with the amount ourselves. They are the one who gives us the number and explain the reason and maybe accidentally told you about the mistake on their part. They have recorded voice calls how about hear that so we all are on the same page. I know it's just a penny the amount but we work hard for that. And we don't cut corners in every client we have and even we are small business we value customer and honor our word. That's impirtabt. You don't say your colleague have different calculation than you have.

I had used BlueHost for a personal blog that I've taken down now but I still believe I'm well versed with its services as I started using it two years ago. To start with, I believe that out of all the hosting services that I've ever used, BlueHost has to be the cheapest (effectively) considering the fact that they threw in a domain name as well as a SSL certificate along with my hosting plan. Absolute trash of a service. Multiple issues that land squarely within Bluehost's circle of responsibility and they have precisely zero interest in looking to help. Bluehost exploits people with little to no technical knowledge and refuse to offer adequate support or assistance. When challenged by a someone with solid technical knowledge, it quickly becomes apparent that Bluehost do not know what they are doing by asking inane questions and assigning blame to third parties to dodge responsibility to their clients. Avoid using Bluehost at all costs. Even a free service isn't good value if it doesn't work and they refuse to help you.
Beyond that, Dreamhost is a 5-of-5 hosting company for many reasons. They operate their own control panel, which is convenient and easy to understand. While phone support isn't available 24-7, they are responsive to chat and tickets. The company uses superfast SSDs for all their storage, has a free SSL certificate (for more secured web browsing), and provides SSH access for those plans that are intended for more technical users.

Their competitor HostGator, for example, is slightly more expensive but has a serious lack of spam and virus protection in their inboxes, and they only back up your data once a week. I’ve been with bluehost 10-15 years, and used to be quite happy with their hosting, prices, and I understood the limitations of shared hosting, but for the most part it didn’t matter for my purposes. I now have a few packages personally, shared, VPS, Cloud, and manage about 50ish of my clients that use bluehost as well. The last 6 months service-wise has been appalling. Slow, lies, misinformation, and it honestly feels like they’ll tell you anything to get you to just go away; try to get them to listen to logic, forget it! I am now recommending all of my clients on bluehost leave, because when they have issues I don’t want to be the one they call to deal with BlueHost’s support. I also agree, their server responses have gotten extremely laggy, and oddly enough the shared hosting seems faster than packages that are supposed to be much better.

Thanks for this article. I have to say that I had a terrible experience with Blue Host ‘support’. One operator never responded. The next 2 were sarcastic and asked questions completely bypassing my question. For example – they asked for my domain name though I wasn’t a customer and it didn’t relate to my question. When I asked why, they said their Director of Sales needs domain names to track sales made through the site. They kept me on hold for 2-3 minutes in between each question and as they only partially responded each time, it made for a very aggravating experience. Bots may have been an improvement. Definitely, would not use them.

Never again. When you see ‘Unlimited’ or ‘Unmetered’ - instead read “THROTTLED”. After a year of countless issues with slow server response and database connection errors, we finally reached the last straw after having our hosting account de-activated for purportedly being infected with ‘malware’. After hiring a third party developer to verify that our site was solely experiencing server issues, we migrated to a new host and have experienced ZERO errors. Also - know that the Site Backup Pro service is BROKEN, and does not allow you access to the back-ups that are included in the hosting plan. Support was more than willing to restore the back-ups for me, but REFUSED to give me copies, despite me providing multiple instances of documentation where I was promised and encouraged to download them to my computer. Probably because they knew I would be using the back-ups to escape their clutches. Other than that, Support is incompetent. SSL is buggy. Prepare for errors to pop up out of the blue. Beware Bluehost.

After spending years on my website, it suddenly started getting wiped. I was happily using Concrete5 to build my site. Bluehost, forced installed WordPress, without my permission. It overrode/wiped my site, and replaced it with a blank WordPress blog. I changed it back over and over, requested they stop doing it, but they kept doing it. They've obviously made a deal with WordPress, and are doing this on purpose. I can't use concrete5 anymore.. and get constant prompts to use WordPress instead. They also tried charging me for another site, one that I'd cancelled...twice. They still charged me for it.

One way around this is to use a content delivery network, which makes it so that the content of your website is hosted on different servers in different geographic areas. Users will download the content from the nearest geographic server. Bluehost comes with Cloudflare built directly into it; Cloudflare is a top of the line content delivery network. You can enable it on any of your sites, absolutely free.


BlueHost's shared hosting is not only fast but reliable with good customer support. I am also using the Cloudflare CDN which BlueHost and it has really improved the site's loading speed.So far, my site has been down only for once and that was just a few days after I switched to BlueHost. However, their customer support was fast in responding to my issue and they got it resolved within half an hour.

GoDaddy sit somewhere in the middle. Apart from the WP101 video tutorials, the extras in the GoDaddy WordPress installation don’t add as much to the user experience as those from Bluehost. Moreover, the lack of cPanel access with GoDaddy may be off-putting to more experienced users — not to mention the lack of support for the newer versions of PHP, no HTTP/2, and no free SSL certificate. However, the load testing did show that GoDaddy provided a resilient service.

Bluehost has been a bad experience! We started using Bluehost about 5 years ago to host a few of our company websites. Things were fine. Then we added more websites, as well as our company email. In the last few months, we noticed our websites would go blank during the day. No explanation from Bluehost as to why it was happening – you would think they might contact us and inform us of the problem, and offer some solutions. We had to contact them – their suggestion was to move to a dedicated host because our website traffic was too large for a shared server. So we migrated. Apparently Bluehost does zero backups, and we lost a lot of valuable emails in the process. They also removed our SSL certificate, and told us it would cost $149/yr per site to get it back (we host about 20 sites). It also altered our ability to upload media files to our websites via wordpress, adversely limiting our ability to do work on our websites. Their answer is to use FTP – however, when you have 10 people who work on your websites and are familiar with WordPress, there is a learning curve to FTP.
