Bluehost or Wordpress

Apart from their knowledge base, they also have a pretty active YouTube channel which covers a lot frequently-asked support topics. So, if you're more comfortable with videos than plain text, their YouTube tutorials should come in handy. Take a look at the video below to get an idea of the kind of support videos they upload on their YouTube channel:
I'm able to easily setup redirects, add-on additional domains to my account and easily manage the multiple domains from one easy control panel. I can setup email accounts for each domain and lump everything together under my one account and one price. They offer quite a few plugins and options for more advanced web designers and companies with more demanding needs.
Signed up with bluehost couple of years ago, been happy ever since, site runs smoothly support is helpful. I do want to say that I did not expect the renewal price to be higher than what I paid initially; I did look up renewal pricing with other web host, it turned out that they all charge a higher renewal price; I stayed with Bluehost where I remained happy.
Money orders or Checks: Money orders and checks are accepted, but only in US money. The hosting term must also be for 12 months or longer. An invoice will need to be created before you send a check or money order, this is to ensure that the amount paid is correct. Services that require monthly renewal cannot be paid by check or money order; they require an active credit card or PayPal account. Checks and money orders can be sent to the following address:
You’ll never feel trapped with BlueHost. They have a clear and well-defined refund policy. The “30 days money back guarantee” states that if you are not satisfied and want to leave BlueHost within the first 30 days of service, you will get a full refund. This essentially feels like a trial period, you only stay with them if you are satisfied, else you can claim and get your money back.
Bluehost offers 3 shared hosting plans – Basic, Plus and Prime. These plans are Linux based. There are no Windows server based hosting plans in Bluehost’s line of offering. These shared hosting packages are available for yearly, 2 years, 3 years or 5 years terms. There is no option to choose a monthly billing. The details of regular price and our discounted coupon price for each of these plans are in the table below.
Security features: HostGator has lots of available security features; the only issue is that most of them need to be purchased. For example, HostGator offers important security features like SiteLock, CodeGuard backups, and domain privacy protection. These features still have to be added to any shared webhosting plan. SiteLock costs $1.67 monthly ($19.99 annually) and CodeGuard can be added for $2.00 a month ($23.95 a year).  Domain privacy protection costs $14.95 a year.
I am hosting 8 websites for clients and my own on bluehost…… have been using bluehost for over 10 years and have always received reliable help whether from chat, phone, or email. I am not a novice but I still run into problems at times and I have always gotten my problem solved with one contact. When i started converting all my sites to joomla! they were always there for my questions, no matter how trivial….. The only thing I can add is there are a good bunch of Good Ole’ boys!!!
Last week I received an email from them stating that ‘Emergency Maintenance” was required on my box, and that it would entail 30-90 minutes of downtime. Not so. They completely broke my site, and I am unable to get through to their technical support, so I have critical data trapped in a database I can’t access because they scrambled the configuration. I can’t even put up a temporary site on a dynamic host to keep my business running! SO PISSED right now.
Formed in 2003, Bluehost has long been one of the foremost shared hosts on the planet, and they now power more than two million websites. What’s more, Bluehost is on a short list of providers with the official WordPress seal of approval, doled out by the WordPress Core team. With an experienced team, competitive pricing, and always-there support, Bluehost is King when it comes to WordPress hosting services.”
I been struggling with email problems since 2 weaks ago! Talked to many support agents, one and another, waited for long times (right now I have a chat with them since 3 and a half hours ago and they don’t have a little idea of what to do), they have given me a lot o stupid excuses like (“sorry the chat is slow” or “I am just a representative not a specialist”).

My company has been using BlueHost as a web host for a few years now, and all of my dealings with them have been unnecessarily complicated - even regarding what should be simple fixes and queries. For one, the lack of a Support Ticket system is asinine. I was left on-and-off hold with their support center for 2+ straight hours, and when I requested to just be called back/emailed when they received the answer they needed from another department, I was told that I was "REQUIRED to stay on the phone" or I would have to "go through the whole process again" - a COMPLETE waste of my time and workday. Additionally, our site got infected by malware for which we were offered NO support and instead were immediately transferred to a sales department who spouted a lengthy sales pitch and gave no genuine technical advice. When asked to speak with someone who wasn't trying to sell us a product, we were told that wasn't an option. I could go on about the billing department's 2-month runaround JUST for trying to change our password and registrant info - even with legal proof of account ownership and providing them with multiple other methods of verification, all of which were accepted but to no avail... Overall, an atrocious ripoff for the price with disappointing web-building tools and a complete absence of support.
Constant Contact is a complete email marketing solution. It provides an easy interface to design professional emails using customizable templates. It allows you to store, segment and organize email lists with ease and also includes several free list building tools. Additionally, it features real-time reporting to track email opens, bounces and clicks for analysis and planning.
What’s more, you can choose to have your site built in the cloud where it will be automatically copied to three devices. So, should one device fail, Bluehost’s “failover” technology automatically designates a copy of your website to the best device as the failed version rebuilds. Therefore, your website remains up and running even in the event of hardware issues at the company.
There’s so much information out there it’s enough to make a person dizzy! But that’s where this page comes in—I’ve tested both hosts over the period of an entire year and broken down everything that I think a prospective buyer should know. I have been creating websites and web properties for more than 10 years and am an expert in web hosting. I also have professional experience with hundreds of hosting companies over many years, so I know not only what’s good but I also know what’s bad.
Eventhough their technical support representative is friendly. I contacted them about what seems to be complicated/advanced problem. six of their representative was either unable to present solution or had made assumption solutions which did not fix the problem. 8 hour of email/telephone marathon ensued, escalating all the way to manager. Turns out the manager knew the solution.

But the fact proves that it's definitely a right choice I made. Not only did they migrated all the sites content seamlessly without any downtime, my visitors could not feel anything during the transition, but they even provide valuable information on the possible ways to improve my site(speed&seo). I highly appreciated the staff, as they are truly working from the perspective of customers, not just sales.

Bluehost, on the other hand, has always provided me fast, solid support. I’ve spoken with them via phone and email and had great experiences with them both times. Bluehost has highly rated customer service and seems to deserve it – although they did come under fire with their response to a DDOS attack in 2015. In a recent incident, they were much more transparent.
Upon first getting started with GoDaddy, customers who sign up for an annual plan receive a free domain name and the power to control their hosting via cPanel or Plesk control panels. From either of these interfaces, you can quickly install and set up the WordPress environment at no additional cost. Even if you don't sign up for a 12-month GoDaddy plan, they're still known as the World's #1 Domain Name Registrar, so they're a reputable choice for hosting your domain.
The next tier, called the ‘Plus’ plan comes with unlimited features for bandwidth, storage, email accounts, and domains hosting. It is at $12.99 a month for a year’s subscription, and is currently offered at a 36-month term promotion of $5.95 monthly. One sought-after feature that it comes with is the SpamExperts protection for a domain of your choice.
Getting started on a building your first business web site can be a daunting task. Sure, you could just communicate with your customers via Facebook or another social media platform, but if you're serious about doing business online, you'll want to take the plunge and sign up for a top-notch web hosting service. Bluehost does a good job of balancing price and features for businesses that need a bit of hand-holding, while also offering plenty of options to experienced administrators. Bluehost lacks some features offered by our top overall services, DreamHost, HostGator, and Hostwinds.
Great question! Most good web hosts tend to offer 24/7 customer support and acknowledge that their customers are from all around the world so I wouldn’t worry too much about using an international host. As a Swede I find myself using a lot of US-based hosting companies and I don’t think it’s ever negatively affected me or the customer service I get.
Based on my experience with both companies – and talking with people who use both as well – I’ve found GoDaddy’s support to be adequate. I always have to wait several minutes on the phone. I always have to explain a couple times what my issue is. But overall, they get the job done, and my problem fixed. No horror stories – just nothing super-special.
Matt took a couple of years off before jumping back into business with his second hosting venture, 0catch.com which ended up with over 3 million signups and to this date still has over 1.1 million active users. With the help of the 0catch team he had built, Matt set his sights on a more feature rich premier hosting solution – one that still catered to beginner users but also to a more tech savvy user who would pay more for add-on services and enhancements to the core hosting solution.
Sub-domain: These are domains that are created when you add a prefix to your main domain. So, if your website has a forum section, and you make it so that people can get to the forums by typing mywebsite.forum.com, then that is known as a “sub-domain.” You get 25 of these under a basic package, and unlimited under plus, prime and business pro packages.
As previously mentioned, Bluehost also tops the charts in server hosting — offering fantastic performance at competitive prices. With two to four cores and guaranteed resources, your virtual or dedicated server will be performant, powerful, and online virtually 24/7. The Bluehost team leverages industry-leading open-source technologies, such as KVM and OpenStack, to eke out as much performance as possible, leaving you with the utmost flexibility and reliability. Sold? VPS and dedicated plans include instant provisioning, because waiting for your server is so 2000s.”

You can choose a GoDaddy hosting plan based on your needs, with a range of options for storage, email, processing power, et cetera. If your site grows to need scalable and/or dedicated resources, their team makes that transition easy as well. VPSs and dedicated servers can be provisioned in minutes, with Root and cPanel access, and no re-provisioning is required for upgrades. All GoDaddy plans are equipped with the user control of cPanel (or Plesk, if you prefer). From cPanel, you can easily install and set up popular web applications for blogging and/or eCommerce (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, or Magento).
A year of my time was spent building and working on my website, and suddenly the entire website DISAPPEARED. There was no help available and it meant nothing to them. The year (and the money) I had spent developing all aspects of this marketing effort were lost in a heartbeat with no alternatives or anyone who even cared -- it was nothing to a technician at Bluehost -- business as usual. I have let all of the domains and the websites I have with them expire. Spend more time and money for what? AN INCAPABLE WEBHOST! DO NOT TRUST.
Bluehost has been a long-term partner of WordPress and is actually listed on their WordPress recommended hosting page. This partnership has drawn a huge number of WordPress users to Bluehost and has helped shape the training and baseline expertise of each of Bluehost’s support members to accommodate WordPress related optimization and troubleshooting.
They have all your basics covered in one neat and cheaply priced package, which is exactly what your typical novice webmaster is looking for when it comes time to build a site for their business. Bluehost falls short in mere fractions, but those fractions really add up when dealing with big numbers. This is why we wouldn’t recommend Bluehost for sites that garner a huge amount of traffic or lose out big time when their site goes down. But if all you want is your own small corner of the internet and you yourself might not notice any downtime or lagging speeds, Bluehost is a great, cheap place to start.
While cPanel is known for its ease of use, Bluehost has kicked it up a notch and redesigned it so that it is even easier and more intuitive. This means you get unified login (one username and password combination will get you access to all your Bluehost accounts), integration with and hotlinks to Bluehost’s help features and technical support resources, full featured domain and email management features, and easy upgrades and scalability so that you can make changes to the hosting that backs your website.

These guys are awesome, I've had them for three years and they are always up and running (unless you download and install the wrong plug-in for your wordpress site)... but you can call their customer support and within minutes, they'll have you up and running and excluding my plug-in error, the server has been up 100% of the time (and I have about 30 domains with full sites... they're not pointed or parked)... definitely get them!!1
HostGator, the Editors' Choice for shared hosting, gives small- and medium-sized businesses room to expand their web presences without the aggressive upselling. The Linux- or Windows-based Hatchling plan (starting at $10.95 per month) offers unlimited disk space, bandwidth databases, and email addresses, plus support for one domain and third-party applications, such as content management systems and e-commerce platforms. HostGator's Baby plan (starting at $11.95 per month) builds on the Hatchling offering by adding unlimited domains. The top-tier Business plan (starting at $16.95 per month) includes highly specialized options, such as a free toll-free phone number and a private SSL certificate. HostGator has a well-rounded shared web hosting package.
BlueHost, one of the most recognizable names in the web hosting industry with over 2M domain names under management, has been providing quality hosting solutions to thousands of business and personal web sites since 1996. Their "professional hosting" plan includes all the features you might need at the best possible price. Today, BlueHost is a part of Endurance International Group.
While cPanel is known for its ease of use, Bluehost has kicked it up a notch and redesigned it so that it is even easier and more intuitive. After deciding, and picking my option it took around 2 minutes and I was connected with Zach (or Zack). He was an American guy who did his best to help me. However, my question” “What’s the best service to pick if I plan to send 50GB worth of files through an FTP server every week and keep at least 300GB of files at the same time?” was not answered entirely, with the representative admitting it’s probably a dedicated server and he has no expertise in those.
Bluehost was founded in 2003 by Matt Heaton, a tech entrepreneur and software developer. Oddly enough he stumbled upon the industry by co-locating with a company called freeservers.com who provided a completely free hosting service. After seeing the tremendous potential in providing a hosting service, Matt started his own free hosting service company.
Hosting companies know what a complete pain in the ass moving your websites to a new host usually is… so, once they have you as a customer… they rarely provide you with any real support. It’s a common and ongoing problem. Bluehost is my 3rd hosting company. I thought I had finally found a host that had at least a reasonable level of service… but I was wrong.
