Bluehost was my first decent hosting experience. I left 1&1 crooks and needed a host with reasonable support and a billing department that wasn't purposely difficult to reach. Bluehost is mostly known for being a cheap entry-level shared host with easy enough to set up, but it's also an adequate resource for light hosting of other project. They target those interested is launching Wordpress blogs, and provide a reasonably good platform for this. The recent facelift to the control panel was helpful in some ways, but also complicated things unnecessarily. Their pricing has changed to limit domains and file space for entry level customers, but mostly what you get will be more than enough. Bluehost support is great, decently time and friendly.
Sites hosted on the GoDaddy entry level Basic Managed WordPress Hosting plan are automatically backed up every day, but, unlike SiteGround — who only store one version — with GoDaddy, 30 backup files are kept at any one time. You can restore these backup files in just a few clicks through the GoDaddy customer dashboard, and, when doing so, you have the option of restoring the files, the database or both.
If you have a lot of traffic on your website, it may become slow and crash a lot, this will turn off potential visitors. One way around this is to use a content delivery network, which makes it so that the content of your website is hosted on different servers in different geographic areas. Users will download the content from the nearest geographic server. Bluehost comes with Cloudflare built directly into it; Cloudflare is a top of the line content delivery network. You can enable it on any of your sites, absolutely free.

The Prime Plan gives you everything the plus plan offers but gives you SiteBackup Pro and Domain Privacy. SiteBackup Pro levels up your backup options by allowing you to chose custom intervals for backing up your website and gives you the option to download those backups. Domain Privacy blocks your personal contact information from the whois directory. This keeps your name, address, email, and phone number off of marketing lists which can be used to spam you or plague you with unwanted correspondence from salespeople.

IMPORTANT NOTICE – no tool is 100% correct all of the time. There are variations in results, which depend on the servers the tools themselves are using. Signed up with bluehost couple of years ago, been happy ever since, site runs smoothly support is helpful. I do want to say that I did not expect the renewal price to be higher than what I paid initially; I did look up renewal pricing with other web host, it turned out that they all charge a higher renewal price; I stayed with Bluehost where I remained happy.

It is really easy to set up- I had no problem getting up my first website up using their services. Since it was my first hosting company ( and currently my present ) I really didn't know how good I had it with their services until I tried out their competitors over the following 8 years. From Hostgator to godaddy it seems like a lot of webhosting companies you every little opportunity to suck an extra dime out of you. This is not the case with blue host. They are a true, no BS hosting platform.

What would be good tho, is to have a resource that can be accessed which addresses various issues that might lead a customer to contact customer support for tweaking various parameters that only can be done by Bluehost. That would be a very valuable document to have access to and provide us, the customer with a good picture of what is the scope of things which can be changed or altered if needed. This would save us time in resolving things and probably lower the amount of time required to get to the root cause of some issues. What do you think?
Bluehost keeps a very close eye on server resources like CPU and memory; because of this, they are able to ensure that every user using the server gets an equal share of the server’s resources. Resource intensive websites, poorly optimized websites, and DDoS attacks can still cause issues with the servers. Be warned, if they think a user is causing issues with a server, then that user may be suspended.

Parked Domain: Parked domains are domains that redirect to the content and the website that your main domain does. So, if your main domain is bakingstore.com, you may also want to have similar names like bakingstore.net, bakingstore.org, etc., as parked domains, because they are so similar. You get 5 of these with a basic package, and unlimited with plus, prime or business pro packages.
Used to be a good hosting company. Downhill for a year now, with problems escalating since Jan 2016. Cpanel does not work. Hotlink protection does not work. Contacted support and they tried to blame me. I told them it was a file change they had made and I had deleted my htaccess file and used their own cpanel hotlink protection and it failed. Support person deleted files they had changed to erase their fingerprint and it still does not work. Domain manager, cannot disable Privacy Protection. Chat support unable to assist said created Help ticket. Copy sent does not include issue. Contacted support again to verify ticket and was told nothing they can do, Domain Support not in on weekends! So much for the 24/7 support they advertise! Make Copies of EVERY contact with Bluehost including your billing info. This is interstate commerce and carried out over wire.

I was able to build a basic website using the available free options through Bluehost. Their auto-renew is easy to manage. It's been relatively pain-free. I like the service and options.
