Is Bluehost A Domain Registrar
There are two other factors that led to the nearly perfect score earned by Dreamhost. First, the company's pricing is pretty transparent. There are no hidden gotchas in the rates. Plus -- and this is the best we've seen across all our hosting providers -- Dreamhost provides a 97-day money back guarantee. There's quite literally zero risk in giving them a try.
For those just getting started, perhaps on their first website, we’d like to point out that Bluehost has revamped their user experience — beefing up the user-friendliness factor significantly in recent years. Users will find the dashboard and overall customer experience to be welcoming — about as non-daunting for newcomers as web hosting gets. If you’re looking for WordPress hosting specifically, whether on a shared, cloud, or dedicated server, you’ve come to the right host. Bluehost is one of the few providers endorsed by the WordPress Core team. Install the popular blogging platform in a single click via the control panel, or have their managed services team take care of it for you.
Uptime: Like with most providers, HostGator promises a 99.9% uptime. If this service level isn’t met within a given month, HostGator guarantees to compensate users for that entire month. This, of course, only applies to unexpected downtime and doesn’t include server maintenance. This guarantee just shows how confident HostGator is on their service.
I switched from another host because of frequent outages & poor customer service. Bluehost has been a great choice. It was easy to transfer my website with very available customer support. The dashboard is easy to understand & navigate. The price is a good value. They are an excellent choice for WordPress hosting. I have experienced virtually no outages since moving to Bluehost. Also speed & server response times were much improved. I am glad I found them.
The one and only reason I am giving this company a semi-decent review is mainly because of their ONE knowledgeable support agent. I would call in COUNTLESS times and request alanna keel to assist me with my server as EVERYONE else would keep me on hold for 30 minutes or more. I had my site migrated to my VPS account, which mind you, I PAID FOR!! Long story short, the migration was extremely messed up and my sites were all types of broken. After being on hold for an hour waiting for “Steven” the apparent manager to come to the phone (Apparently managers are too busy to attend to customers, WHO KNEW) I hung up and got an unexpected suprise when I called back. After explaining my frustration for the THIRD TIME, I got alanna who actually fixed my sites within 15 minutes. All 4 of them. Didnt even put me on hold. They were fixed before I ended my story, if were being completely honest. Bluehost needs more employees that know what they are doing. 2 years ago, I could call in and have my problem fixed in 2 minutes. These days, the support is so slow. ALSO DO NOT OPEN A CHAT, I DONT THINK THEY CAN UNDERSTAND SIMPLE ENGLISH. I feel bad for employees like Alanna, who are CLEARLY picking up the slack for the poorly trained agents they currently have, Unfortunately, after october I was unable to get in touch with my favorite agent so I ended up cancelling services with Bluehost and moved to Godaddy. I give Bluehost an 80/100 for one reason only. The superior support from ONE person I talked to out of 20. Host with caution!!!!!!
Online security is very important. We put a lot of information online and it needs to be secured properly to make sure no one unauthorized can get to it. This is why we must dedicate this part of the BlueHost review to see whether this hosting provider cares about your security as much as it should. There are two main parts in this test. In the first one, I checked whether someone can brute-force your password, typing plenty of incorrect attempts and eventually getting the right one. For BlueHost, it took only seven incorrect attempts to think something fishy may be going on.
I used this platform for several months. I personally believe that it is disqualified by the number of available functions. Beginners may have trouble finding themselves. The second issue is the 36-month plan. And if someone needs a hosing just for a year? Then he has to pay more. I personally use GetLark. Very simple client panel, cheap hosting packages (only $5 for one month, the more months the cheaper). Additionally, the hosting is free of charge for 3 months.
HostGator, on the other hand, has more coupons that are available throughout the year (in my experience) . At the time of writing, the lowest non-coupon price available on HostGator’s hatchling plan was $3.30/month with a 36 month package. Again, there are often coupons and specials around holidays that can get this price even lower from my experience, but I can’t really say the same for Bluehost.
Now that you have a baseline understanding of what makes Bluehost tick it is time to break down some of the hosting packages and their corresponding cost. While we have stated above that Bluehost is an extremely affordable option it can vary considerably in what features you get for different pricing tiers. In the section below we will dissect each package so you can determine which might be the best fit for your website.
If you’re looking for an affordable host, Bluehost is a solid, reputable choice, but their low cost coupled with their supremacy in the shared hosting arena is what makes this provider such a value deal. The Bluehost name is listed toward the top of many of our reviews categories, and with good reason. They offer excellent hardware configurations, a generous list of extras, and fantastic support and reliability — all at a price point that’s, generally, lower than the competition.
Bluehost was founded in 2003 by Matt Heaton, a tech entrepreneur and software developer. Oddly enough he stumbled upon the industry by co-locating with a company called freeservers.com who provided a completely free hosting service. After seeing the tremendous potential in providing a hosting service, Matt started his own free hosting service company.
Another main difference between these two plans is the amount of web space you are allowed to store on the server. The Basic plan only comes with 50GB of disk space, whereas the Plus plan comes with unlimited space. 50GB is quite a lot of space and should be enough in most cases but if you store lots of images and videos then it can quickly add up.
When running business website online, there are a number of things asking for your attention. Besides, for a server related issue, you would want to resolve it as quickly as possible. In that case, you wouldn’t want to rely on email support. Sending an email and then waiting for the service provider to respond is beyond annoying when you have a critical network issue on your hand.
The service’s web hosting plans are offered on shared servers, with prices depending on how contract length. These are ideal for PHP applications that require light CMS installs, like WordPress, Joomla and Drupal. Aside from these, you can be sure that your website will run all the time and is always protected. The vendor provides users with power backups with the use of UPS and diesel generators while regular backups of user accounts are done regularly.
In July 2013, I said that – “for deciding between Bluehost vs. GoDaddy on usability, it all depends on what type of usability you are looking for. If you are a beginner who wants an easy-to-use setup and who never plans on really changing anything else – GoDaddy wins. It has a sleeker, easier interface on its web hosting backend. If you are looking for long-term usability with the flexibility and options to meet whatever project you are trying out – Bluehost wins.”
Bluehost packages come with CloudFlare integration. CloudFlare is a content delivery network (CDN), which is basically a network of servers that store cached versions of your website. When someone navigates to your website, their browser receives content from the CDN point closest to them, reducing the amount of time it takes for the data to travel (shorter distance = shorter travel time).
Just got off a call with Joe from support, been working on launching the site, and he was super helpful. As a person that had no clue how to set up a website it was really important for me to find a company with affordable pricing, one that has helpful resources, and great support. When i first wanted to start my websites, i search how to set up my blog and found lots of resources on how to do it on bluehost; when i encountered issues installing a theme i contacted support and they were really helpful. The rep was nice enough that he suggested couple of plugin to help me with my SEO stuff. So far been really happy with bluehost!
