Bluehost Dns Settings

Each of our contenders has their strengths. While GoDaddy leads the industry in email and domain hosting services, Bluehost remains one of the top VPS and dedicated server providers. Bluehost specializes in WordPress, but GoDaddy lets you download and install the blogging software with a single click via cPanel. Bottom line: These are market-leading hosts. Follow the one with the services that most closely match your hosting needs.
BlueHost, like many other EIG-owned companies, is known for outsourcing technical support to countries with much lower cost-of-living like India, which results in a rather frustrating experience at times. It's not as easy to communicate about technical troubles with a non-native English speaking person who often has a hard time understanding your problem.
Before you spend a dime on online services – hosting included – wouldn’t it be nice to know exactly what you’re paying for? Bluehost hosting gives you a true taste of what it’s like to be one of their customers by giving you demo access to a fully functional cPanel. Since the cPanel is what you will use to manage your entire website, showing you a stripped-down version of this program would be to do you a disservice. The complete demonstration is a smart move, as the features in cPanel are robust and user-friendly. By the time you make a purchase decision, you know exactly what you getting yourself into.
There's some complicated elements to the interface, but after some learning and hiding things you don't use, it's tolerable. I've also had strange uptime issues over the years. Client emails have bounced due to perfectly good domains being blacklisted (blame it on other shared users on the same server). This is a problem which they reverse, but it takes time and people can't send their emails for a while.

Great question! Most good web hosts tend to offer 24/7 customer support and acknowledge that their customers are from all around the world so I wouldn’t worry too much about using an international host. As a Swede I find myself using a lot of US-based hosting companies and I don’t think it’s ever negatively affected me or the customer service I get.
As previously mentioned, Bluehost also tops the charts in server hosting — offering fantastic performance at competitive prices. With two to four cores and guaranteed resources, your virtual or dedicated server will be performant, powerful, and online virtually 24/7. The Bluehost team leverages industry-leading open-source technologies, such as KVM and OpenStack, to eke out as much performance as possible, leaving you with the utmost flexibility and reliability. Sold? VPS and dedicated plans include instant provisioning, because waiting for your server is so 2000s.”
This Bluehost review has revealed a lot of great things that the web host has to offer people looking for hosting. They have options for WordPress users, businesses, and people looking for the high control allotted by VPS and dedicated servers. Although their WordPress plans are slightly more expensive than other companies, like HostGator, they include features that make up for this.
ite because of their internal decision to end VPS hosting. There was absolutely no forewarning, no email, no advance anything. My site was just closed, all content is restricted, its been a full week now with no solution on their part. My paid contract runs another 6 months. They are offline in their chat and take an average of 3-4 days to respond to our emails. I understand that they have decided to terminate my VPS set-up. That is their prerogative. But to fail to contact the client, restrict the site, and then not answer emails is ABSOLUTELY unacceptable in the realm of web hosting. Please please please learn from my experience and take your hosting elsewhere. At this point we have our fingers crossed just to restore our content before migrating to another hosting platform.

This is how I keep this site alive for 9 years and add more free hosting reviews based on real test account – your support is highly appreciated. Buying via my link doesn’t cost you more – in fact, I can guarantee that you’ll get the lowest possible price for BlueHost hosting. )

I had used BlueHost for a personal blog that I've taken down now but I still believe I'm well versed with its services as I started using it two years ago. To start with, I believe that out of all the hosting services that I've ever used, BlueHost has to be the cheapest (effectively) considering the fact that they threw in a domain name as well as a SSL certificate along with my hosting plan. As my WordPress-based website was quite lightweight I went for the cheapest hosting plan.
HostGator gained points for uptime monitoring and regular backups, along with free cPanel or Plesk. We liked that SSH is available for the more technically inclined site operators and that dedicated IP addresses could be purchased. We did take points off because it's sometimes difficult to tell what the price is once promotional plans run their course. That said, with a generous 45-day money back guarantee, there's a solution for almost everyone at HostGator.
The user control options are pretty popular in the hosting space: your choice between the easy-to-use cPanel or Plesk control panels, plus Root (administrative) access for more tech-savvy customers. If you're particularly interested in webmail, GoDaddy offers their GoDaddy Workspace feature, an intuitive interface for keeping up with the unlimited email accounts you have available to you as a customer. All of this can be easily accessed and secured with your GoDaddy login info that you receive upon sign-up.
Bluehost provides some helpful stuff for not much money. It gives you options to register a domain and provides you with hosting as well. They have several one click installs for popular CMS (drupal, wordpress, etc). Unfortunately, not all of these were working when I was using this and I was unable to install Drupal 8 using the one-click install (drupal 7 worked fine though). The backend can be somewhat confusing to navigate, and it is not helped by the fact that a lot of bluehost's documentation seems to be out of date.
Full disclosure: if you purchase hosting via any of the links located on this comparison page, I might get a small referral commission. This does not affect any my recommendations and I am very serious about that. There are plenty of hosts that I don’t like (many of which pay out high commissions) and you can read about the hosts that I don’t recommend.
You’ll never feel trapped with BlueHost. They have a clear and well-defined refund policy. The “30 days money back guarantee” states that if you are not satisfied and want to leave BlueHost within the first 30 days of service, you will get a full refund. This essentially feels like a trial period, you only stay with them if you are satisfied, else you can claim and get your money back.
The Plus Plan is ideal for those looking for more space and more flexibility. This plan gives you the option to host unlimited websites, and with it you get unmetered space for your site. This plan is ideal for sites looking to grow fast, developers, and serial entrepreneurs. You still get a free domain, but as an added bonus you get unlimited email accounts, email storage, and subdomains where the basic plan will limit you in those areas.
Websites hosted via the cloud will be more reliable. This is because your website data is duplicated and mirrored across three different drives. If a hardware issue occurs on one of the drives, two copies of your website work together to rebuild. While this is occurring, the remaining one copy of your website continues running. As a result of all this, your website won't experience outages or reboots when issues arise.
Regardless of which host you pick, both are well-known, reliable and solid choices for web hosting. The choice in the end comes down to you and your preferences. While I think Bluehost is a little better for beginners and HostGator is a little cheaper, I believe that both hosts offer good quality shared hosting at an affordable price. To learn more about web hosting, feel free to check out other pages on this site and take in some hosting knowledge!
SiteLock Security software provided by Bluehost ensures safety of your website against spam, malware and other vulnerabilities. It scans your site daily for malware to make sure that it is not being blocked or spammed and checks against cross-site attacks (XSS scripting), SQL Injection etc. Also you get to display SiteLock certificate on your website which establishes the trustworthiness of your business.
First thing’s first—when it comes to web hosting, speed is very important. Some search engines are now using page speed as a ranking factor in their search results, so slower-loading websites may be shown below faster-loading websites. This means that it’s very important to choose a web host with fast servers who is good at managing their resources, especially on shared servers.

If you really need a good technical support and reliability then don't use bluehost. They were completely irresponsible in my email disappeaing issue which they still can't identify how it is happening. All they will tell when they can't find the solution is the case is escalated to higher technicians. Then after 3 days no email regarding the solution and again we have to start over the process repeats, no solutions. What ever the settings how can emails be disappeared automatically and frequently. Bluehost can't be trusted for business people who deal with daily emails and follow ups.
There are two options to move your site. You can either do it yourself for free by manually transferring your files over to Bluehost. Alternatively, you can use the Website Transfer service to migrate up to five sites and 20 email accounts from your former hosting company. This service costs $149.99. Don’t forget; you’ll need to add the FTP option to your hosting package before you can migrate an existing site.
Bluehost has long been a favorite of mine in the shared and WordPress hosting spaces. They adhere to modern standards for hardware, and their customer support is fantastic. For the vast majority of customers, Bluehost’s shared server options will accommodate their hosting needs for a web presence. Once you outgrow the traffic allowances of shared web hosting, however, Bluehost excels in the VPS and dedicated hosting niches, too.
People often think that a web host is the main cause of a slow website but, this is often not the case. When picking a provider, it's important for find a hosting provider that is close to your users and has a good amount of RAM and fast CPU power. Beyond that, it's often the way the website is set up that slows it down for users. To ensure that your website speed is optimal for users you need to make sure you pay attention to the following:
As I’ve mentioned in other reviews, I really think that Bluehost is very “noob friendly” which makes them a great host if you’re just getting started out online. They do an excellent job of providing help documentation and laying everything out in a way that makes a lot of sense for people who might be new to hosting. One thing I like about Bluehost is that when you log in, many aspects of the account and hosting are immediately visible. You can easily switch back and forth between your hosting control panel and the main account dashboard. With HostGator, you need to go through a few more clicks to get to cPanel and in my opinion, it’s a bit more cumbersome to navigate. This doesn’t mean that HostGator is hard to use, I just don’t think it’s as easy as Bluehost right off the bat. Once you know what you’re doing though, either panel is just as easy to navigate.
The third plan, the ‘Choice Plus’ costs $16.99 monthly, with a promo rate of $5.95 a month for the first 36 months. The plan comes with domain privacy protection for one domain. Like the ‘Plus’ plan, the ‘Choice Plus’ plan also offers SpamExperts protection for a domain of your choice. More importantly though, the service comes with automated backups through CodeGuard Basic.

The bottom line is that for a mere dollar per month you can get started with GoDaddy's website builder plan and choose from hundreds of theme options to start designing the site of your dreams. See it as a free website builder with hosting that costs a dollar per month, or a dollar per month spent on a site builder with the hosting included for free — either way it's a pretty sweet deal.
I would put ZERO stars If I could Blue host/ Just Host They have absolutely no customer service; I had a dedicated VPS server that cost me over $300.00 USD every 3 months First problem, they upgrade their servers and My Image framework disappears, I call them and they don't want to accept any responsibility that cost me $3,000 AUD to get the coding rewritten. The moron on the phone from customer “VPS Dedicated Support” told me to read the fine print on the agreement, and he could connect me to accounts to close my account. Is there any way to report this behaviour to upper management, No there is not! I sent a message to the CEO of Blue host on Facebook and through LinkedIn. No answer, Nothing! I sent the same message to the CEO of Endurance and received no reply either. I posted my experience on Face book, it was totally ignored! No reply, nothing. Then a year later my website is completely erased from the server, I call them, Guess what? The phone number on the Australian Blue host website is out of order, and the message is in Spanish, Really? Yes, in Spanish. Now there is no phone number on the Oz just host website. There is a Chat that the morons who answer. Answer your questions with questions. Like “How are you”? Or “this is the website address that you can find the answer to your question” Or go to the website and take a ticket and wait with bated breath. If you are lucky the ticket gets answered with a totally irrelevant question a week later. So if your business is reliant on your website you are in deep trouble. So I call Blue host direct on an international call, after waiting over 35 minutes, I finally get to speak to the support. They tell me it is my problem and I am responsible to have backed up the site and my web developer must have erased the site. I told this unhelpful imbecile that my Web developer does not have the passwords for the account. He insisted that there was no way that it could have erased itself. Really? So I must be lying and I erased the website. I told him to check and see what has happened. Guess what he told me? He said, he has no access to my C Panel or account, so he has no Idea what had happed. In the C Panel there is backup feature. Not once did this so called support “VPS specialist” ask me if it was backed up. I then put this to him; again he said he has no access so he could not check. Thank fully a few days prior I uploaded a clone to another server to make some upgrades to the site. I used the clone to upload the site back on the server. If you are wondering about the C Panel auto back up, yes I did configure it. And it’s junk. The backup files and the ten behind it were corrupted, completely useless. So I am over these useless lazy incompetent fools. I am out! I have lost enough money, I am over Blue Host. A few days later I went to my account to remove another website I had on a Sub C Panel. Guess what? I am locked out of the account and it is asking for money, that’s funny I have auto pay set up. So I click pay, it is static, nothing happens. So I click PayPal, again nothing happens, it is static, So I ring them direct on an international call. After more than 45 minutes I get through to accounts. I tell them what has happened and they treated me like I was lying. I told them to check the payment in my account as it is not working. Again they did not believe me. I was about to lose it with these rude people. I demanded that they check. After 55 minutes they came back and agree there is a glitch. They told me to go the site and take a ticket. I lost it and told them to take my credit card over the phone as I need to get into my account. They tell me they cannot take cards over the phone. That was it! I told them to unlock my account as I was not going to pay for what is their problem. The person on the phone put me on hold. While he spoke to his supervisor. Half an hour passed and he finally told me that they would give me grace for one month and unlock the account. I said to him “grace” what do you mean grace I am happy to pay and you cannot take my money. So I migrated everything out of that pathetic Companies server. Two months later I logged into that account and the payment glitch was still there. I don’t understand that there is no accountability at all. They later removed the Australian contact number from the website. Imagine if Crazy’s or Go Daddy did that. So Australians must be fleeing in droves. People like me who run a business and depend on their website for their success of their business and income, are not going to put up with this lack of customer care. Only options for customer service are to talk to a chat room run by lazy idiots, or is it Bots? Who only answer questions with questions, which fob you off to the tickets and website? The reviews are disgusting and reflect even more negatives than I expressed. Blue Host / Just Host have the worst reviews that any other company (1) And in Australia there is phone contact unless they know Blue host’s phone number is the same company as Just Host and it’s at international call rates. (2) It takes at least 25 minutes to get through by phone. (3) No real people in support who are tech savvy or helpful (4) Unstable servers (5) They don’t look after the customers interests (6) Absolutely no accountability, Rude (7) Tickets hardly get answered and if they do it’s a week later with stupid irrelevant content. THE WORST HOSTING COMPANY IN MY 25 YEARS IN IT. Webmaster Ability Classifieds.com So much for your money back guarantee that is a Fake offer That Blue Host / Just Host just refers to the “Fine Print”
We’ve been with Bluehost for many years. Recently we have encountered problems with e-mails sent from the site. When something goes wrong and there have been no software changes on our end, the finger points to a server issue. The most recent problem was html-formatted e-mails being sent from the code by the mature and widely used phpmailer library. They were being sent as plain text with nr paragraph codes embedded. A ticket to technical support was returned telling us that they don’t offer software support (which we never asked for) and to upgrade PHP from 5.3 to 5.4. This was the wrong answer, given that phpmailer works back to PHP 5.1.
Bluehost offers 24/7 professional customer support with all of our web hosting plans for no additional cost. You can call or chat with us at any time and a dedicated support rep will assist you with any inquiry or concern you may have. Our support is available for all website hosting plan types, so no matter what platform you need, know that we are here to help you every step of the way. For customers looking for WordPress design or functionality support, we offer WP Live. This premium service starts at $29 per month and gives you access to our WordPress technical support team. They can assist with everything from selecting a theme, to design, to even plugin development questions.
Bluehost’s shared web hosting plans have three basic tiers. The first and most basic of which is the ‘Basic’ plan – costing $8.99 a month for a yearly term. The current promotion has a rate of $3.95 a month for 36 months, and goes to the regular rate after. What separates this low-cost plan from the rest is that you can only host one domain. Moreover, there is a limit of 50GB of storage and only 5 email accounts can be hosted with an allocation of only 100MB per account.

Though inherently a blogging tool, WordPress can be manipulated into a web builder, CMS, or online gallery editor, and it’s been called all of the above. WordPress is highly customizable, and sites built with it can easily be tailored to match any brand aesthetic. WordPress hosting packages are very reasonably priced, and it’s easy to get started. We recommend InMotion Hosting if you’re interested in building a site with WordPress.

One of the oldest web hosts started in 1996, Bluehost has become the largest brand name when it comes to WordPress hosting. They are an official ‘WordPress’ recommended hosting provider. With Bluehost, you never have to worry about your website being slow even when there is a lot of traffic. Their 24/7 expert support is always there to help when you need it by phone, email, or live chat. They are rated #1 in web hosting for small businesses. On top of that, they are offering WPBeginner users an exclusive 63% off discount, a Free Domain, Free SSL, and a free Site Builder with templates.
Bluehost keeps a very close eye on server resources like CPU and memory; because of this, they are able to ensure that every user using the server gets an equal share of the server’s resources. Resource intensive websites, poorly optimized websites, and DDoS attacks can still cause issues with the servers. Be warned, if they think a user is causing issues with a server, then that user may be suspended.
An added bonus is that with Bluehost you can get a WordPress site up and running in about 5 minutes. This, of course, is possible because setting up an account, acquiring a domain, and installing WordPress can all be done from the Bluehost site. Bluehost streamlines the process for getting up and running with your WordPress site by providing a 1-click installation.
Shared Server Hosting is the most common and affordable form of website hosting. Multiple users will share the resources of a secured server or group of secured servers in order to put their websites online for others to view. Bluehost offers several affordable shared hosting services so you can find the perfect shared hosting package for your website needs.

Bluehost is undoubtedly one of the best known and most popular web hosting companies in the world. However if you are researching providers and are looking for a good alternative to Bluehost then here are my recommendations. Cheaper alternatives to Bluehost are Hostinger and HostGator (however it’s also owned by EIG). The best non-EIG owned alternative is SiteGround (read my review to see why SiteGround is #1)
First thing’s first—when it comes to web hosting, speed is very important. Some search engines are now using page speed as a ranking factor in their search results, so slower-loading websites may be shown below faster-loading websites. This means that it’s very important to choose a web host with fast servers who is good at managing their resources, especially on shared servers.
If you want to check on the status of websites hosted on Bluehost, you can go to bluehost.com/hosting/serverstatus and type in your domain name or account name, they will then send you an update on whether the sites are working properly or not. You can also use this free tool to check if your website (or any website for that matter) is down or not.
What would be good tho, is to have a resource that can be accessed which addresses various issues that might lead a customer to contact customer support for tweaking various parameters that only can be done by Bluehost. That would be a very valuable document to have access to and provide us, the customer with a good picture of what is the scope of things which can be changed or altered if needed. This would save us time in resolving things and probably lower the amount of time required to get to the root cause of some issues. What do you think?
Even the delay of minutes (if not seconds) in online business can harm you a lot. The competition is tough and you might just miss a golden opportunity while waiting for the support representative’s email respond. You should always choose a host that provides 24X7 telephonic support and BlueHost does that too. Besides, they also offer the 24X7 live chat and email support.

Bluehost is dedicated to providing industry-leading support and reliability. Our platform is optimized for the sake of keeping your website live and accessible around the clock. On top of that, we offer a free SSL for all website hosting packages to keep your website traffic secure. Most of our web hosting plans also come with a free domain name, so you can get started building the website of your dreams quickly and affordably. Lastly, we are the #1 trusted WordPress hosting provider, which means if you have any questions about how to get started building a website with WordPress, we are absolutely the right partner to assist you.
Formed in 2003, Bluehost has long since been a hosting innovator and leader. Today, the company powers more than two million websites and carries the official seal of approval given by the WordPress.org team for their managed WordPress services hosted on their VPS platform. With years of experience, competitive pricing, and excellent support, Bluehost is a pick you can take to the bank in the VPS hosting space.
As you can see, there is no such thing as a monthly BlueHost plan. The shortest plan you can buy is 12 months, there are also 24, 36 and even 60 months you can choose. It is interesting to see, that it is the 36-month plan that is the cheapest, even cheaper than the longer 60-month period. For all of those packages you have to pay in advance. These are the prices you would have to pay:
I used this platform for several months. I personally believe that it is disqualified by the number of available functions. Beginners may have trouble finding themselves. The second issue is the 36-month plan. And if someone needs a hosing just for a year? Then he has to pay more. I personally use GetLark. Very simple client panel, cheap hosting packages (only $5 for one month, the more months the cheaper). Additionally, the hosting is free of charge for 3 months.
The one and only reason I am giving this company a semi-decent review is mainly because of their ONE knowledgeable support agent. I would call in COUNTLESS times and request alanna keel to assist me with my server as EVERYONE else would keep me on hold for 30 minutes or more. I had my site migrated to my VPS account, which mind you, I PAID FOR!! Long story short, the migration was extremely messed up and my sites were all types of broken. After being on hold for an hour waiting for “Steven” the apparent manager to come to the phone (Apparently managers are too busy to attend to customers, WHO KNEW) I hung up and got an unexpected suprise when I called back. After explaining my frustration for the THIRD TIME, I got alanna who actually fixed my sites within 15 minutes. All 4 of them. Didnt even put me on hold. They were fixed before I ended my story, if were being completely honest. Bluehost needs more employees that know what they are doing. 2 years ago, I could call in and have my problem fixed in 2 minutes. These days, the support is so slow. ALSO DO NOT OPEN A CHAT, I DONT THINK THEY CAN UNDERSTAND SIMPLE ENGLISH. I feel bad for employees like Alanna, who are CLEARLY picking up the slack for the poorly trained agents they currently have, Unfortunately, after october I was unable to get in touch with my favorite agent so I ended up cancelling services with Bluehost and moved to Godaddy. I give Bluehost an 80/100 for one reason only. The superior support from ONE person I talked to out of 20. Host with caution!!!!!!
One main feature of Bluehost is they offer unlimited bandwidth. This is perfect for budding bloggers whose traffic would grow over time. Many other hosting don’t offer unlimited hosting & they shut down website once traffic grows. With Bluehost this is a big relief as you can focus on growing your blog rather than worrying about other hosting issues.
Great hosting. Excellent prices. I have never had any trouble with the hosting. Anything I need to update, I am told in advance. The customer service is great. Waiting period is not very long. Help is there at your service 24/7. When needed, the blue host reps have walked me through the steps and resolved the issue at hand. Fast, efficient and there for you.
