I can't rely on Bluehost when it comes to building a website for a serious business, even the dedicated hosting package, as I had too many technical issues with them and their support didn't help much, specially when it comes to server down issue, they simply tell you we are doing our best and leave you alone banging your head against the wall. I will never forget the time when my dedicated server went down for a whole week due to a major hardware failure!
I would put ZERO stars If I could Blue host/ Just Host They have absolutely no customer service; I had a dedicated VPS server that cost me over $300.00 USD every 3 months First problem, they upgrade their servers and My Image framework disappears, I call them and they don't want to accept any responsibility that cost me $3,000 AUD to get the coding rewritten. The moron on the phone from customer “VPS Dedicated Support” told me to read the fine print on the agreement, and he could connect me to accounts to close my account. Is there any way to report this behaviour to upper management, No there is not! I sent a message to the CEO of Blue host on Facebook and through LinkedIn. No answer, Nothing! I sent the same message to the CEO of Endurance and received no reply either. I posted my experience on Face book, it was totally ignored! No reply, nothing. Then a year later my website is completely erased from the server, I call them, Guess what? The phone number on the Australian Blue host website is out of order, and the message is in Spanish, Really? Yes, in Spanish. Now there is no phone number on the Oz just host website. There is a Chat that the morons who answer. Answer your questions with questions. Like “How are you”? Or “this is the website address that you can find the answer to your question” Or go to the website and take a ticket and wait with bated breath. If you are lucky the ticket gets answered with a totally irrelevant question a week later. So if your business is reliant on your website you are in deep trouble. So I call Blue host direct on an international call, after waiting over 35 minutes, I finally get to speak to the support. They tell me it is my problem and I am responsible to have backed up the site and my web developer must have erased the site. I told this unhelpful imbecile that my Web developer does not have the passwords for the account. He insisted that there was no way that it could have erased itself. Really? So I must be lying and I erased the website. I told him to check and see what has happened. Guess what he told me? He said, he has no access to my C Panel or account, so he has no Idea what had happed. In the C Panel there is backup feature. Not once did this so called support “VPS specialist” ask me if it was backed up. I then put this to him; again he said he has no access so he could not check. Thank fully a few days prior I uploaded a clone to another server to make some upgrades to the site. I used the clone to upload the site back on the server. If you are wondering about the C Panel auto back up, yes I did configure it. And it’s junk. The backup files and the ten behind it were corrupted, completely useless. So I am over these useless lazy incompetent fools. I am out! I have lost enough money, I am over Blue Host. A few days later I went to my account to remove another website I had on a Sub C Panel. Guess what? I am locked out of the account and it is asking for money, that’s funny I have auto pay set up. So I click pay, it is static, nothing happens. So I click PayPal, again nothing happens, it is static, So I ring them direct on an international call. After more than 45 minutes I get through to accounts. I tell them what has happened and they treated me like I was lying. I told them to check the payment in my account as it is not working. Again they did not believe me. I was about to lose it with these rude people. I demanded that they check. After 55 minutes they came back and agree there is a glitch. They told me to go the site and take a ticket. I lost it and told them to take my credit card over the phone as I need to get into my account. They tell me they cannot take cards over the phone. That was it! I told them to unlock my account as I was not going to pay for what is their problem. The person on the phone put me on hold. While he spoke to his supervisor. Half an hour passed and he finally told me that they would give me grace for one month and unlock the account. I said to him “grace” what do you mean grace I am happy to pay and you cannot take my money. So I migrated everything out of that pathetic Companies server. Two months later I logged into that account and the payment glitch was still there. I don’t understand that there is no accountability at all. They later removed the Australian contact number from the website. Imagine if Crazy’s or Go Daddy did that. So Australians must be fleeing in droves. People like me who run a business and depend on their website for their success of their business and income, are not going to put up with this lack of customer care. Only options for customer service are to talk to a chat room run by lazy idiots, or is it Bots? Who only answer questions with questions, which fob you off to the tickets and website? The reviews are disgusting and reflect even more negatives than I expressed. Blue Host / Just Host have the worst reviews that any other company (1) And in Australia there is phone contact unless they know Blue host’s phone number is the same company as Just Host and it’s at international call rates. (2) It takes at least 25 minutes to get through by phone. (3) No real people in support who are tech savvy or helpful (4) Unstable servers (5) They don’t look after the customers interests (6) Absolutely no accountability, Rude (7) Tickets hardly get answered and if they do it’s a week later with stupid irrelevant content. Bluehost is fine like you say, but it didn’t work for me. I decide on a refund and I had checked out the details under refund. “Bluehost will deduct a non-refundable domain fee of 15.99 from your refund.” which is fair enough, but they also opted me in for privacy, which I didn’t notice and didn’t require since I was just testing, so I was charged extra for that. They argue the small prints made it clear, but the line
I’ve been with bluehost 10-15 years, and used to be quite happy with their hosting, prices, and I understood the limitations of shared hosting, but for the most part it didn’t matter for my purposes. I now have a few packages personally, shared, VPS, Cloud, and manage about 50ish of my clients that use bluehost as well. The last 6 months service-wise has been appalling. Slow, lies, misinformation, and it honestly feels like they’ll tell you anything to get you to just go away; try to get them to listen to logic, forget it! I am now recommending all of my clients on bluehost leave, because when they have issues I don’t want to be the one they call to deal with BlueHost’s support. I also agree, their server responses have gotten extremely laggy, and oddly enough the shared hosting seems faster than packages that are supposed to be much better.

Bluehost is great for small websites or businesses that are just starting out and can't afford to pay for a better hosting service. They are very affordable, easy to set up, and offer the basics to get a website up and running. The admin area is pretty straightforward and it's very easy to use. Though I'd only recommend them as a last resort if other more reliable hosts aren't affordable for the client at this point in time.
You don’t need that much of a storage or bandwidth. When you are just a starting business, your bandwidth and storage needs are very basic. Do not fall for unlimited bandwidth and storage in the beginning because you’ll pay for something you won’t use. If your web pages aren’t heavy and there are no downloadable materials, even a few GBs of bandwidth will be more than enough.

I was sucked into the low price offer and the recommendation from WordPress.org, I did have good service for 3 years. I then noticed my Jetpack plugin show a lot of down time moments through out 3 year period. Also it is quite slow, and speed is important for ranking with google. But what stopped my trust was the renewal fee of $11 a month, that is more than 100% increase in price. I think someone managing Blue Host decided that since customers are on auto renewal, lets just double the price and we will be instantly rich.
The one and only reason I am giving this company a semi-decent review is mainly because of their ONE knowledgeable support agent. I would call in COUNTLESS times and request alanna keel to assist me with my server as EVERYONE else would keep me on hold for 30 minutes or more. I had my site migrated to my VPS account, which mind you, I PAID FOR!! Long story short, the migration was extremely messed up and my sites were all types of broken. After being on hold for an hour waiting for “Steven” the apparent manager to come to the phone (Apparently managers are too busy to attend to customers, WHO KNEW) I hung up and got an unexpected suprise when I called back. After explaining my frustration for the THIRD TIME, I got alanna who actually fixed my sites within 15 minutes. All 4 of them. Didnt even put me on hold. They were fixed before I ended my story, if were being completely honest. Bluehost needs more employees that know what they are doing. 2 years ago, I could call in and have my problem fixed in 2 minutes. These days, the support is so slow. ALSO DO NOT OPEN A CHAT, I DONT THINK THEY CAN UNDERSTAND SIMPLE ENGLISH. I feel bad for employees like Alanna, who are CLEARLY picking up the slack for the poorly trained agents they currently have, Unfortunately, after october I was unable to get in touch with my favorite agent so I ended up cancelling services with Bluehost and moved to Godaddy. I give Bluehost an 80/100 for one reason only. The superior support from ONE person I talked to out of 20. Host with caution!!!!!!
Regardless of which host you pick, both are well-known, reliable and solid choices for web hosting. The choice in the end comes down to you and your preferences. While I think Bluehost is a little better for beginners and HostGator is a little cheaper, I believe that both hosts offer good quality shared hosting at an affordable price. I’ve not been a customer of Bluehost, but one of my friends has an account with them for several years. In the past year, my friend’s server kept getting hacked. Upon contacting Bluehost, my friend couldn’t get his site back up despite that Bluehost said they would help. Mind you that my friend is a small business owner who has little knowledge about web stuff, and I believe the majority of hosting account owners are just like him. Therefore, they would naturally turn to their hosting companies for help when things go down. Unfortunately, Bluehost has failed twice in helping him out in the past year, big time.

If you are an existing Bluehost customer, there is literally no way to contact them directly. They have an 888# and a chat feature only… both of which are outsourced to India and take a LONG time to get through to anyone… and usually results in zero actual assistance or results.
Well, I switched to BlueHost to increase the page load speed, etc. That’s not happening! In fact, it’s really bad with going into wp-admin. The recent outage too me by surprise and in talking with them I asked about “cloud redundancy” and was told the entire cloud service was down. There is something definitely wrong with that picture and they really need to look at how they are configured. Anyway, the pricing hook is dead on and I was believed to think I’d get the intro price for 12 months but guess what? Not gonna happen unless you do 3 years. I talked, at length with sales before making the switch and wasn’t told that, in fact was told just the opposite. So, yeah I felt the bait/switch routine.
The options for copying content between the staging and live sites are impressive. Being able to add restoration points while you work on your staging site makes it very easy to roll back to a previous version should something go wrong. Normally, you’d have to pay for a premium WordPress website copying plugin to access this level of functionality, so it’s great to see it as part of the entry-level Bluehost shared hosting plans.

I had used BlueHost for a personal blog that I've taken down now but I still believe I'm well versed with its services as I started using it two years ago. To start with, I believe that out of all the hosting services that I've ever used, BlueHost has to be the cheapest (effectively) considering the fact that they threw in a domain name as well as a SSL certificate along with my hosting plan. As my WordPress-based website was quite lightweight I went for the cheapest hosting plan.
I am hosting 8 websites for clients and my own on bluehost…… have been using bluehost for over 10 years and have always received reliable help whether from chat, phone, or email. I am not a novice but I still run into problems at times and I have always gotten my problem solved with one contact. When i started converting all my sites to joomla! they were always there for my questions, no matter how trivial….. The only thing I can add is there are a good bunch of Good Ole’ boys!!!

My company has been using BlueHost as a web host for a few years now, and all of my dealings with them have been unnecessarily complicated - even regarding what should be simple fixes and queries. For one, the lack of a Support Ticket system is asinine. I was left on-and-off hold with their support center for 2+ straight hours, and when I requested to just be called back/emailed when they received the answer they needed from another department, I was told that I was "REQUIRED to stay on the phone" or I would have to "go through the whole process again" - a COMPLETE waste of my time and workday. Additionally, our site got infected by malware for which we were offered NO support and instead were immediately transferred to a sales department who spouted a lengthy sales pitch and gave no genuine technical advice. When asked to speak with someone who wasn't trying to sell us a product, we were told that wasn't an option. I could go on about the billing department's 2-month runaround JUST for trying to change our password and registrant info - even with legal proof of account ownership and providing them with multiple other methods of verification, all of which were accepted but to no avail... Overall, an atrocious ripoff for the price with disappointing web-building tools and a complete absence of support.
So you need to be careful before you commit. I alsodon'tt appreciate their having to pay almost $80 to access thwalkthroughgh video of their services, when most hosting companies offer this for free. With all that said, I´ve been happy with the service as far as uptime and the level of security features available to implement. Overall, there´s no denying that Bluehost offers great value for money.
I have had nothing but trouble with bluehost. I manage a number of sites, including our company website, and their support was unhelpful at best. My almost brand new (ie, not bogged down) WP installation was dealing with 10-15 second load times, if it would load at all. It was a combination of DB and filesystem issues. And another site was taken offline for almost 3 days due to bluehost’s database issues, and as I was transferring a third away from them, the whole server itself crashed, leaving me without my site’s data for the rest of the day, and the site offline. Their hosting on some of their boxes is simply unreliable, and their databases are even worse.

Thanks for your review. I used this platform for several months. I personally believe that it is disqualified by the number of available functions. Beginners may have trouble finding themselves. The second issue is the 36-month plan. And if someone needs a hosing just for a year? Then he has to pay more. I personally use GetLark. Great hosting. Excellent prices. I have never had any trouble with the hosting. Anything I need to update, I am told in advance. The customer service is great. Waiting period is not very long. Help is there at your service 24/7. When needed, the blue host reps have walked me through the steps and resolved the issue at hand. Fast, efficient and there for you.
