Bluehost File Manager

Online security is very important. We put a lot of information online and it needs to be secured properly to make sure no one unauthorized can get to it. This is why we must dedicate this part of the BlueHost review to see whether this hosting provider cares about your security as much as it should. There are two main parts in this test. In the first one, I checked whether someone can brute-force your password, typing plenty of incorrect attempts and eventually getting the right one. For BlueHost, it took only seven incorrect attempts to think something fishy may be going on.
I’ve not been a customer of Bluehost, but one of my friends has an account with them for several years. In the past year, my friend’s server kept getting hacked. Upon contacting Bluehost, my friend couldn’t get his site back up despite that Bluehost said they would help. Mind you that my friend is a small business owner who has little knowledge about web stuff, and I believe the majority of hosting account owners are just like him. Therefore, they would naturally turn to their hosting companies for help when things go down. Unfortunately, Bluehost has failed twice in helping him out in the past year, big time.

The customer service department has been a bit slack over the past couple of years. They used to answer right away and immediately fix any concerns. Over the past couple years, the hold and wait time has been pretty long and I often have to go back and forth with them to get a problem solved. Even their online chat service takes awhile to connect with a rep and get things accomplished. I'm not sure if they've outsourced their customer service or if they changed hands and merged or what exactly, it's just not the same as it used to be. Luckily, I don't have issues very often to have to contact them.
I don’t know where the chat people are from, but from names like “Shubhashree J”, I assume it is not the U.S.. Not only do the chat session people disconnect a session with barely a moments notice, but they will take 30 minutes or more to respond to a previous statement of “Please allow the next agent a few moments to review the chat and become familiar with your issue”. When the chat people do make statements, they are along the lines of “. . . in the shared hosting service and in normal basis the average time to connect to the website is 5-15 seconds”. Really 15 seconds? I never saw any ecommerce or other type of website which took 15 seconds to load, and mine was actually taking about 5-15 seconds to load, often times more. Even Bluehost cpanel login and webmail takes long to load at least compared to yahoo mail or hotmail. I can’t say how good or bad other web host companies are, because I have only experienced one other, which is GoDaddy and although I never had any major problem with Godaddy I can recall, the only reason why I chose “Bluehost” was because my website developer recommended it and so I thought I must use Bluehost otherwise my developer would always blame me and Godaddy or any other hosting company for any problems.
First thing’s first—when it comes to web hosting, speed is very important. Some search engines are now using page speed as a ranking factor in their search results, so slower-loading websites may be shown below faster-loading websites. This means that it’s very important to choose a web host with fast servers who is good at managing their resources, especially on shared servers.
With the Standard plan or Enhanced plan, you get a 4 x 2.5GHz CPU. The Premium plan offers you a 4 x 3.3GHz CPU. Storage is 1 TB (mirrored), and RAM starts at 4 GB at the Standard level, ranging up to 16 GB at the Premium tier. You get 5 TB of bandwidth at the Standard tier, 10 TB at the Enhanced tier, and 15 TB at Premium. One domain is included with every plan. You get three IP addresses at Standard, four at Enhanced, and five at Premium. All plans are backed by 24/7 service and a money-back guarantee.

I would like to thank all those who have taking time out to write about their experiences with Bluehost. I am writing simply because you have saved me a fortune of Wealth not necessary money but stress, frustration, anger, time, and even depression. I had wanted to buy a Dedicated Hosting and Domain from Bluehost and for their Website Builders to build my Website for me discussion on Chat concluded yesterday at about this time for their Website builder to call me tomorrow. However somehow The Lord Works in a Mysterious ways indeed, l was just checking out Dreamhost and decided to check Bluehost review and l felt so, so sorry the way individual have been treated after reading 110 BAD REVIEWS AGAINT BLUEHOST according to TRUSTPILOT. This is very wrong and l am giving them 1Star in support of people who have gone through hard times with Bluehost and still have the courage to write a review to help people like myself who are yet to fall a victim. Thank you all the reviewers. I have since walked away and will Chat to them soon to cancel the appointment for tomorrow. This is unbelievable and unprofessional of Bluehost, shocking as Wordpress.org still have them as their official distributor, so l read on search engine, and l really worried too about Wordpress.org as they should do something about all these complains coming against their official distributor. I am really very grateful for this lucky escape truly! THANK YOU!
And not only are they not free, they are expensive and limited. Expect to pay a $149.99 migration fee to transfer over a maximum of five sites and 20 e-mail accounts. When they want to bring in new customers with their low prices, you’d expect that Bluehost would make transferring your site over relatively painless, especially because most companies will transfer your site for free.

People simply browsing the Bluehost website will be able to hop into a quick live chat with a sales assistant. I actually had a chance to try this out. I asked them a question about their server locations and the resulting customer service was great. They answered my question quickly and politely asked if they could help me get started hosting with them.
However, Bluehost has really kept me busy with their very slow servers causing not only extremely slow page load times, but “server time out” error messages and at least 1 server downtime per month. (and I only look at the site for a few hours per week, due to the frustration of not being able to upload/add to the site due to its extremely slow page load wait times).
I can't rely on Bluehost when it comes to building a website for a serious business, even the dedicated hosting package, as I had too many technical issues with them and their support didn't help much, specially when it comes to server down issue, they simply tell you we are doing our best and leave you alone banging your head against the wall. I will never forget the time when my dedicated server went down for a whole week due to a major hardware failure!
The company was founded in 1996, by Matt Heaton, who had this idea to provide an efficient web hosting service. Bluehost happens to be a persistent web hosting solution since then. Matt Heaton served as the CEO from 2003 to 2011. Dan Handy was the next CEO who operated from 2011 to 2015. The company was acquired by Endurance International Group. The current CEO is Mike Oslon, appointed by EIG.
the emails were working today and all of a sudden after 9AM PST, the emails stopped working. So I contacted bluehost to find out what’s going on. I logged into the account and check as well. i went into the email area and found that all the emails on the account is gone. WTF! I’m with the agent chatting and it’s now 10:31AM PST and still no answer as to what happened and what is going on.
They recently changed their tech support and it is now severely lacking. The people they are using do not know what they are doing and messed up my website without wanting to fix it. Took several days and hours on the phone to get them to fix the mistakes they made! I also dislike the pricing. When I first signed up, the prices were reasonable. Each time I renew, the prices are higher and higher, although they offer lower prices on their websites. According to them, sales and promotions are not available to current customers. It is a bait and switch since they email customers the promotions.
Websites hosted via the cloud will be more reliable. This is because your website data is duplicated and mirrored across three different drives. If a hardware issue occurs on one of the drives, two copies of your website work together to rebuild. While this is occurring, the remaining one copy of your website continues running. As a result of all this, your website won't experience outages or reboots when issues arise.

This is an entirely different case from my experience with a similarly-priced shared host called MDDHosting (read my full review), where I've been hosting TechTage.com since 2011. As they're a much smaller, independent company (not a part of a bigger operation), they feel much "closer to the customers", and they proactively upgrade server hardware as newer technologies hit the market.

For each load impact test, an increasing number of virtual users (see the blue line on the graphs below) accessed the sites over a five-minute period, going up to 50 simultaneous virtual visitors. The green line on the charts displays the virtual user load time — or how long it took for the page to display. An increasing graph suggests degrading performance, while a flat graph suggests stability. For the load impact testing, the multipurpose Divi theme was used.
The dashboard can be a little difficult to navigate if you are unfamiliar with web terminology. There's not a dedicated support person for your account, so if you have any issues you can chat online or call into a call center for technical or account support. When purchasing a domain - I made the mistake of not initially purchasing the domain privacy and was bombarded by phone and email from solicitors offering web related services. I went back and purchased it, but still continue to receive e-mails related to this.
Basically, I’m new in the field of SEO but as much as I have learned that, if we compare the other web hosting with blue hosting than blue hosting is amazing with every point of view. It is my personal experience. I have created a lot website and still I’m working on their and every time I’ve purchased web hosting from blue hosting. Here you can try and take the amazing web hosting with full discount.
It’s worth noting that BlueHost offers tons of latest security and performance features – NGINX architecture, custom server cache, HTTP/2, SSD storage, etc. However, these features are only available for those who are willing to pay extra. GoPro, BlueHost’s highest performance shared hosting plan, costs $13.95/mo on signup ($23.99/mo on renewal). WordPress Hosting (which is officially recommended by WordPress.org), now with a new dashboard and integrated marketplace, costs $19.99/mo (and $39.99/mo on renewal).

We are a small organization with a staff of five employees. Until recently, we were still using personal gmail accounts to handle all of our communication with each other, as well as our congregation. We have recently made the switch to using email addresses available to us through our domain. This gives a much more professional look to our print materials.
Bluehost has a lot of tools for building sites, filtering spam, managing email, collecting site statistics, and managing domains. For building a website, you can use the WordPress content management platform, create a website using Weebly (an excellent website-builder), upload files using FTP or File Manager, or use the goMobi Mobile Web builder if you bought the add-on. Weeby's drag-and-drop functionality let me quickly build an attractive page complete with slideshows, contact forms, social media links, and more. Weebly's free version gives you basic functionality (you can create six pages and add custom HTML), but upgrading to the $8.99 per month Professional tier offers even more flexibility (custom themes, password protected pages, and more). Check out the PCMag Weebly review for a deeper dive.
In July 2013, I said that  – “for deciding between Bluehost vs. GoDaddy on usability, it all depends on what type of usability you are looking for. If you are a beginner who wants an easy-to-use setup and who never plans on really changing anything else – GoDaddy wins. It has a sleeker, easier interface on its web hosting backend. If you are looking for long-term usability with the flexibility and options to meet whatever project you are trying out – Bluehost wins.”
The entry-level SiteGround StartUp plan includes automatic daily backups, but only the latest backup of the site is kept. Furthermore, customers on the SiteGround StartUp plan can’t restore backups themselves, and must instead open a ticket to request this paid service. Upgrading to the next package up — GrowBig — increases the number of stored backup versions to 30, and provides the ability to restore a backup from a specific date in the past 30 days using the backup restore tool.
I said that sounds like someone is going to charge ME for, and he said yes, BlueHost's charge to me would be $160-something, I think, and an outside vendor would charge me "a few hundred." I said no thanks and hung up. So I checked my files and see that there are dozens of unknown files - it looks like someone in China is parking all of their pages on my site (file names like Ray-Ban, Adidas, etc., so a counterfeit store, I guess). I would think that if BlueHost was about to disable my site for a "virus or malware" - or for any reason - they might let me know.
They have, literally, outsourced 100% of their customer support and tech support to a foreign their party that has no idea what they are doing. And even if their outsourced / 3rd party tech support was “OK”, that doesn’t excuse or explain completely cutting yourself off from your customers… the people that pay your bills. In my experience, that’s the beginning of the end for any company–when they simply do not want to have any direct contact–or feedback–from their customers.

I've used Bluehost for quite awhile. They said I was hacked once in 2016 and my accounts were all frozen and taken offline while I backed up my files and deleted them from the server. They couldn't show me proof of anything and offered a pay service of theirs to do a sweep, clean and check, which I declined. That was really the only major issue I ever had with them. Otherwise, their web hosting services and options have been a great solution.
The one and only reason I am giving this company a semi-decent review is mainly because of their ONE knowledgeable support agent. I would call in COUNTLESS times and request alanna keel to assist me with my server as EVERYONE else would keep me on hold for 30 minutes or more. I had my site migrated to my VPS account, which mind you, I PAID FOR!! Long story short, the migration was extremely messed up and my sites were all types of broken. After being on hold for an hour waiting for “Steven” the apparent manager to come to the phone (Apparently managers are too busy to attend to customers, WHO KNEW) I hung up and got an unexpected suprise when I called back. After explaining my frustration for the THIRD TIME, I got alanna who actually fixed my sites within 15 minutes. All 4 of them. Didnt even put me on hold. They were fixed before I ended my story, if were being completely honest. Bluehost needs more employees that know what they are doing. 2 years ago, I could call in and have my problem fixed in 2 minutes. These days, the support is so slow. ALSO DO NOT OPEN A CHAT, I DONT THINK THEY CAN UNDERSTAND SIMPLE ENGLISH. I feel bad for employees like Alanna, who are CLEARLY picking up the slack for the poorly trained agents they currently have, Unfortunately, after october I was unable to get in touch with my favorite agent so I ended up cancelling services with Bluehost and moved to Godaddy. I give Bluehost an 80/100 for one reason only. The superior support from ONE person I talked to out of 20. Host with caution!!!!!!

Websites often run very slowly on Bluehost servers, where they ran very quickly on our local and live development servers. I've had numerous clients complain that their website goes down frequently, or that they have email problems. We had a client recently switch to a more reliable host because their email problems became too much to handle. Frankly, the ups and downs of the servers and the headaches that come with that aren't worth the cheap price.
We shifted to Hostgator last month. Before that, our site was hosted on with an Indian host called SquareBrothers. Our site suffered like hell during that period. The server breaks down every minute. Uptime was somewhere around 30%. They are a bunch of morons who cheat their customers. It was like a worst nightmare for us. I repeat Squarebrothers is the worst webhost in the world.
Bluehost offers Managed WordPress hosting that is based on VPS technology. It combines the simplicity, speed and security into one delivering the most optimized platform for running WordPress based websites. There are 4 plans on offer that are based on different storage, memory and traffic requirements. These are WP Standard, WP Enhanced, WP Premium and WP Ultimate. You could choose from monthly billing, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 year or 3 year terms. The details of regular prices and our discounted offer price can be found in the table below.

So you need to be careful before you commit. I alsodon'tt appreciate their having to pay almost $80 to access thwalkthroughgh video of their services, when most hosting companies offer this for free. With all that said, I´ve been happy with the service as far as uptime and the level of security features available to implement. Overall, there´s no denying that Bluehost offers great value for money.
Bluehost has a culture that is very disruptive to the customer!! When I call tech support I can barely hear the technician's answers/explanations because of the loud background noise--loud music, employees goofing off with loud conversation and laughter, and other strange sounds. This is a problem because their platform is very confusing. I created a site using Weebley but when I return to edit the site, I have to do a lot of work to find where they have stored it. I will be returning to GoDaddy. Their platform is easy to navigate and their tech support team act like professionals and not kids on a playground.

Thanks for your review. I used this platform for several months. I personally believe that it is disqualified by the number of available functions. Beginners may have trouble finding themselves. The second issue is the 36-month plan. And if someone needs a hosing just for a year? Then he has to pay more. I personally use GetLark. Very simple client panel, cheap hosting packages (only $5 for one month, the more months the cheaper). Additionally, the hosting is free of charge for 3 months. Here is my referral link, thanks to which you’ll be able to get one month for free: https://getlark.com/panel/aff.php?aff=45

BlueHost is one in a group of four hosts all run by the same person (others in the group are HostMonster, JustHost, and FastDomain). BlueHost, the original host established in 1996, is one of the oldest; with over 1 million domains managed, it’s also one of the most popular. But the other services in the group pretty much provide the same features, so just pick the one with the best pricing for you, and realize that you’re tapping into the same resources and brains on the back end. Comparatively, BlueHost is the most expensive, but it has the best name recognition. The company knows what features are most popular, and they offer a low price for those features. The basics are provided – unlimited domains, emails, bandwidth, and disk space – and BlueHost throws in the free domain name when you purchase a year of hosting. For users who want the capability to handle mega-bandwidth, like businesses with robust e-commerce needs, there is a more expensive pro-level plan with SSL, a dedicated IP address, and a stronger CPU.

To help prime your site launch for success, Bluehost offers a plethora of unlimited freebies, including a free domain, unlimited domain hosting, unlimited email hosting, and unlimited storage, bandwidth, and databases. This, coupled with their several options for site building services, is everything a new website owner needs to get started — and the cost is hard to beat.
PHP – Unless you want your website to be dull and boring, you will need to use PHP. This service enables you to create dynamic content for your site, including pictures, buttons, and text that can set you apart from the crowd. Depending on what type of website you want to build, Bluehost offers different packages to give you more control through PHP.

Bluehost was my first decent hosting experience. I left 1&1 crooks and needed a host with reasonable support and a billing department that wasn't purposely difficult to reach. Bluehost is mostly known for being a cheap entry-level shared host with easy enough to set up, but it's also an adequate resource for light hosting of other project. They target those interested is launching Wordpress blogs, and provide a reasonably good platform for this. The recent facelift to the control panel was helpful in some ways, but also complicated things unnecessarily. Their pricing has changed to limit domains and file space for entry level customers, but mostly what you get will be more than enough. Bluehost support is great, decently time and friendly.
Bluehost uses the world standard cPanel which provides easy to manage website tools that novice users and advanced users alike. This makes tasks that seem complicated like creating subdomains or transferring domains incredibly user-friendly. Finally, the most notable advantage of using the cPanel is the sheer volume of users worldwide. With millions of users, it is very easy to find solutions to problems, tutorials, and advice from other users to get the most out of your website.

There are two other factors that led to the nearly perfect score earned by Dreamhost. First, the company's pricing is pretty transparent. There are no hidden gotchas in the rates. Plus -- and this is the best we've seen across all our hosting providers -- Dreamhost provides a 97-day money back guarantee. There's quite literally zero risk in giving them a try.
Bluehost has long been a favorite of mine in the shared and WordPress hosting spaces. They adhere to modern standards for hardware, and their customer support is fantastic. For the vast majority of customers, Bluehost’s shared server options will accommodate their hosting needs for a web presence. Once you outgrow the traffic allowances of shared web hosting, however, Bluehost excels in the VPS and dedicated hosting niches, too.
I was sucked into the low price offer and the recommendation from WordPress.org, I did have good service for 3 years. I then noticed my Jetpack plugin show a lot of down time moments through out 3 year period. Also it is quite slow, and speed is important for ranking with google. But what stopped my trust was the renewal fee of $11 a month, that is more than 100% increase in price. I think someone managing Blue Host decided that since customers are on auto renewal, lets just double the price and we will be instantly rich.
