Having used Bluehost for the past 4 years I’m surprised at the number of negative reviews here. I have several domains, databases, blogs, image galleries, etc. and all have been running fine. There have been a couple brief outages. Customer service and technical support were both excellent. I was able to talk to a person quickly and they helped me out within a few minutes. I am not a full-time web developer. I basically run my site as part of my business, but I have helped out associates with their websites and have found their web hosts to be a real pain compared to Bluehost. I would put ZERO stars If I could Blue host/ Just Host They have absolutely no customer service; I had a dedicated VPS server that cost me over $300.00 USD every 3 months First problem, they upgrade their servers and My Image framework disappears, I call them and they don't want to accept any responsibility that cost me $3,000 AUD to get the coding rewritten. The moron on the phone from customer “VPS Dedicated Support” told me to read the fine print on the agreement, and he could connect me to accounts to close my account. Is there any way to report this behaviour to upper management, No there is not! I sent a message to the CEO of Blue host on Facebook and through LinkedIn. No answer, Nothing! I sent the same message to the CEO of Endurance and received no reply either. I posted my experience on Face book, it was totally ignored! No reply, nothing. Then a year later my website is completely erased from the server, I call them, Guess what? The phone number on the Australian Blue host website is out of order, and the message is in Spanish, Really? Yes, in Spanish. Now there is no phone number on the Oz just host website. There is a Chat that the morons who answer. Answer your questions with questions. Like “How are you”? Or “this is the website address that you can find the answer to your question” Or go to the website and take a ticket and wait with bated breath. If you are lucky the ticket gets answered with a totally irrelevant question a week later. So if your business is reliant on your website you are in deep trouble. So I call Blue host direct on an international call, after waiting over 35 minutes, I finally get to speak to the support. They tell me it is my problem and I am responsible to have backed up the site and my web developer must have erased the site. I told this unhelpful imbecile that my Web developer does not have the passwords for the account. He insisted that there was no way that it could have erased itself. Really? So I must be lying and I erased the website. I told him to check and see what has happened. Guess what he told me? He said, he has no access to my C Panel or account, so he has no Idea what had happed. In the C Panel there is backup feature. Not once did this so called support “VPS specialist” ask me if it was backed up. I then put this to him; again he said he has no access so he could not check. Thank fully a few days prior I uploaded a clone to another server to make some upgrades to the site. I used the clone to upload the site back on the server. If you are wondering about the C Panel auto back up, yes I did configure it. And it’s junk. The backup files and the ten behind it were corrupted, completely useless. So I am over these useless lazy incompetent fools. I am out! I have lost enough money, I am over Blue Host. A few days later I went to my account to remove another website I had on a Sub C Panel. Guess what? I am locked out of the account and it is asking for money, that’s funny I have auto pay set up. So I click pay, it is static, nothing happens. So I click PayPal, again nothing happens, it is static, So I ring them direct on an international call. After more than 45 minutes I get through to accounts. I tell them what has happened and they treated me like I was lying. I told them to check the payment in my account as it is not working. Again they did not believe me. I was about to lose it with these rude people. I demanded that they check. After 55 minutes they came back and agree there is a glitch. They told me to go the site and take a ticket. I lost it and told them to take my credit card over the phone as I need to get into my account. They tell me they cannot take cards over the phone. That was it! I told them to unlock my account as I was not going to pay for what is their problem. The person on the phone put me on hold. While he spoke to his supervisor. Half an hour passed and he finally told me that they would give me grace for one month and unlock the account. I said to him “grace” what do you mean grace I am happy to pay and you cannot take my money. So I migrated everything out of that pathetic Companies server. Two months later I logged into that account and the payment glitch was still there. I don’t understand that there is no accountability at all. They later removed the Australian contact number from the website. Imagine if Crazy’s or Go Daddy did that. So Australians must be fleeing in droves. People like me who run a business and depend on their website for their success of their business and income, are not going to put up with this lack of customer care. Only options for customer service are to talk to a chat room run by lazy idiots, or is it Bots? Who only answer questions with questions, which fob you off to the tickets and website? The reviews are disgusting and reflect even more negatives than I expressed. Blue Host / Just Host have the worst reviews that any other company (1) And in Australia there is phone contact unless they know Blue host’s phone number is the same company as Just Host and it’s at international call rates. (2) It takes at least 25 minutes to get through by phone. (3) No real people in support who are tech savvy or helpful (4) Unstable servers (5) They don’t look after the customers interests (6) Absolutely no accountability, Rude (7) Tickets hardly get answered and if they do it’s a week later with stupid irrelevant content. Turns out Bluehost blames the site developer and the site developer blames Bluehost for any problems anyway. Although my other site with Godaddy is small in comparison, the speed of the Godaddy site is so much faster, I literally cannot even count the 1 Mississippi before the page loads. Please beware and steer clear of BLUEHOST as web hosts. We spent 2 years and thousands of dollars making a classifieds website . It had traffic of 5 - 15,000 per day and was growing . Blue host discovered there were personals ads on our website and immediately blocked it and removed the whole URL with zero warning or notice . They informed us we had 48 hours before account was wiped and we weren't able to access cPanel to get a proper backup. The only backups we had were over a month old which was our fault but if they had of given warning or allowed us in just once to make backups we'd be fine. Stay away from these scumbags. They wiped away months of work and thousands of dollars because they're based on UTAH so likely they Mormon fuckers. Stay away from their hosting they are scum and the business suffered immensely simply because they don't have any common courtesy . Scum all of them . Thanks

But the path to get here involved a support chat session lasting 45 minutes with someone so horrendous that all I can do is laugh now. To be fair, he must have been dealing with a dozen customers at once but he was so fine with being incompetent that he must have been at his wits end. I decided to abort this chat and look up info elsewhere and things worked out, but had I actually listened to anything he said I would have messed everything up very badly.
We shifted to Hostgator last month. Before that, our site was hosted on with an Indian host called SquareBrothers. Our site suffered like hell during that period. The server breaks down every minute. Uptime was somewhere around 30%. They are a bunch of morons who cheat their customers. It was like a worst nightmare for us. I repeat Squarebrothers is the worst webhost in the world.

I have spoken with Gentleman from WordPress and he explained they are there to help you for free and no charge; especially, since I was purchasing a brand new design~platform~template for my use. But, that other WordPress sites. I told them how Blue Host was charging us and he said come to them 24/7 and they will help us for free.

Seems like just daily maintenance has been “termed” abusive. I have been hosting my websites at BlueHost for 3 years now, and I do not consider myself an abusive user however, lately anything I do including routine maintenance causes BlueHost servers to over throttle an lock my account. The claim of “Unlimited space” is also false advertising. My sites recently went over 3GB (6 sites combined) and my account was locked until I freed up space. The advertisements say “Unlimited” but the “terms” say otherwise and, you will get a nasty email quoting the terms you probably didn’t know existed because like me you didn’t read them. The trade off for using a cheap hosting company like BlueHost is that you get what you pay for: “limited, slow and hassles but cheap”.
My original price was $6.95 a month, every year after it went up a $1.00 per month. Last renewal it was $8.95 a month paid in advance. I used their service for 2 years. According to who was in the tech department would be how helpful or non helpful they were. For example, I downloaded a wordpress script from them, with spy ware. I asked for help to remove the spyware/trojan, of course I got their standard answer, “Use a different browser.” (hmm-how does that help remove spyware/trojan?) I had an IT guy check out the site and the trojan attacked his computer too. Yet Bluehost tech which is customer support also, said we needed to use another browser. Last time I called Bluehost to assist with my sites, the tech told me to take all my sites (18) and move to a different host. I did.
The lack of customer service, the lack of motivation to solve problems (a CS rep accidentally canceled the wrong service and it ended up in my email and site going down and wasted advertising dollars as it was during a launch and heavy ad time) My experience with them is HANDS DOWN the worst experience I've had working with any company in the past decade.

Just left bluehost, and thank god I finally did. Wanna talk about price jumps ? I went from paying a little under 100 a year roughly to 200z my site was down endless amounts of times. A customer service lacks. Anytime I’ve called, it takes easily an hour to get ahold of anyone. And I recently called about my renewal, and the customer service agent snapped at me. I was completely baffled that I was treated that way by someone who is taking my money. I’m now with SiteGround.
