A big name in the budget web hosting space, GoDaddy is consistently improving the performance of their servers, their site, and their services in order to offer a great customer experience. With cPanel control and 1-click installations for standard web apps, you can get your website up and running quickly. Their 24/7 security monitoring and DDoS protection allow you the comfort in knowing that the professionals are making sure your site is online, loading quickly, and hacker-free. That power and peace of mind — at such a low price point — is quite a value deal.
While disappointing, it is still admirable that the agent has admitted to not knowing something as opposed to offering me an expensive service package. Overall, I can say that the agent was courteous but didn’t provide me with the help I needed. Nonetheless, if you like using phone support and don’t have many difficult questions, this might be a pretty good option.
HostGator, on the other hand, has more coupons that are available throughout the year (in my experience) . At the time of writing, the lowest non-coupon price available on HostGator’s hatchling plan was $3.30/month with a 36 month package. Again, there are often coupons and specials around holidays that can get this price even lower from my experience, but I can’t really say the same for Bluehost.
Bluehost offers 3 shared hosting plans – Basic, Plus and Prime. These plans are Linux based. There are no Windows server based hosting plans in Bluehost’s line of offering. These shared hosting packages are available for yearly, 2 years, 3 years or 5 years terms. There is no option to choose a monthly billing. The details of regular price and our discounted coupon price for each of these plans are in the table below.
Eventhough their technical support representative is friendly. I contacted them about what seems to be complicated/advanced problem. six of their representative was either unable to present solution or had made assumption solutions which did not fix the problem. 8 hour of email/telephone marathon ensued, escalating all the way to manager. Turns out the manager knew the solution.
Bluehost’s shared web hosting plans have three basic tiers. The first and most basic of which is the ‘Basic’ plan – costing $8.99 a month for a yearly term. The current promotion has a rate of $3.95 a month for 36 months, and goes to the regular rate after. What separates this low-cost plan from the rest is that you can only host one domain. Moreover, there is a limit of 50GB of storage and only 5 email accounts can be hosted with an allocation of only 100MB per account.
Folks seeking a WordPress website are in need of the WordPress install itself, the domain at which to host the site, and as many easy-to-use features for managing the WordPress site as possible. GoDaddy offers all of the above: the 1-click install, domain, email, security monitoring, and hosting management power via cPanel. Especially for the low, low cost, they're a fine choice for WordPress hosting.

If you cancel within 30 days but your plan includes a free domain, Bluehost will deduct $15.99 from the total amount of your refund as a domain fee. The company claims that this is to “cover their costs” while ensuring that your chosen domain name isn’t lost. It’s important to note that newly registered domains can’t be transferred until a 60 day registration period has passed.
