Bluehost Options

Bluehost is the official “Wordpress” recommended web hosting company. This means that WordPress.org values Blue Host hosting as the most suitable platform for running wordpress websites. Since its beginning, Bluehost has remained a favourite of webmasters across the globe. Whether it is small business owners or large enterprises or personal/professional bloggers, Bluehost offers plans and features for all – shared hosting, managed wordpress hosting, cloud hosting, VPS and dedicated servers.

Uptime: Like with most providers, HostGator promises a 99.9% uptime.  If this service level isn’t met within a given month, HostGator guarantees to compensate users for that entire month. This, of course, only applies to unexpected downtime and doesn’t include server maintenance. This guarantee just shows how confident HostGator is on their service.
The Prime Plan gives you everything the plus plan offers but gives you SiteBackup Pro and Domain Privacy. SiteBackup Pro levels up your backup options by allowing you to chose custom intervals for backing up your website and gives you the option to download those backups. Domain Privacy blocks your personal contact information from the whois directory. This keeps your name, address, email, and phone number off of marketing lists which can be used to spam you or plague you with unwanted correspondence from salespeople.
The company got bonus points for its policy of performing regular daily backups, even on the lowest-priced shared hosting accounts. It lost points because its promotional price on the low-cost shared hosting does go up after the promotional period. That said, Bluehost also gained points for offering 24-7 phone support and SSH access for certain plans.
Bluehost keeps a very close eye on server resources like CPU and memory; because of this, they are able to ensure that every user using the server gets an equal share of the server’s resources. Resource intensive websites, poorly optimized websites, and DDoS attacks can still cause issues with the servers. Be warned, if they think a user is causing issues with a server, then that user may be suspended.
When canceling your Bluehost account prior to your accounts end of term or down grading your account to a term for less than a year; you forfeit the Domain Registration coupon and Bluehost deducts $15.99 from your final refund amount to cover our costs for registering your new domain on your behalf for one year. Subject to the terms of your domain registration agreement, you will retain ownership of your domain until the end of its registration period.
While cPanel is known for its ease of use, Bluehost has kicked it up a notch and redesigned it so that it is even easier and more intuitive. This means you get unified login (one username and password combination will get you access to all your Bluehost accounts), integration with and hotlinks to Bluehost’s help features and technical support resources, full featured domain and email management features, and easy upgrades and scalability so that you can make changes to the hosting that backs your website.
My experience with Bluehost was primarily for a friend who used them for hosting/DNS. I helped write some PHP scripts as well as do some wordpress work. The experience was fine, nothing exceptional, no complaints. I had no issues, there was sufficient documentation and I was able to do what I needed to. I needed help from their customer service team once and they were responsive within a few hours for a non emergency issue.
I really wish I had seen this review about Bluehost before I went and signed up with them a couple of months ago. I guess now it’s too late to get my money back :sadface. I guess I shouldn’t complain too much, so far BH has been good and I have had to ask support for help, but I’m worried what the future will bring. Lisa, what host would you use for a small blog?

Those are attractive plans, but Hostwinds—the Editors' Choice for VPS hosting—beats out Bluehost with packages that include 128GB of RAM and Linux- or Windows-based server options. Don't underestimate the importance of a Windows server option. If you plan to build (or migrate) a site built on an ASP.NET framework, you'll appreciate Hostwinds's Windows-based VPS offerings.

I am not sure why, but Bluehost is overrated. I have a VPS with them and I find their servers way too vulnerable to hacking. Every 2 months they shut down my VPS with NO warning because infected with malwares. Despite the fact that the fix is easy, they will not help. They advise to hire a service that charges between $30 to $700 per domain to protect. Last week after my clean up, it took them 12h to put my sites back online, because I was calling Tech Support, otherwise I would have stayed down….. They absolutely don’t care.
If you cancel within 30 days and your plan includes a free domain, Bluehost will deduct a non-refundable domain fee of 15.99 from your refund. This not only covers our costs, but ensures that you won't lose your domain name. You may transfer it to another registrar or simply point it elsewhere at your convenience. Please note newly registered domains cannot be transferred to another registrar during the first 60 days of the registration period. You retain ownership of your domain until the end of its registration period unless you renew it.
Welcome to the CNET 2018 directory of hosting providers. In this directory, we'll look at a few of the best website hosting providers like Hostinger, Dreamhost, InMotion Hosting, MochaHost, Bluehost,  Lunarpages and more. In this evaluation, we're featuring commercial hosting providers who offer WordPress, Shared Hosting, VPS and many more hosting products.
But the fact proves that it's definitely a right choice I made. Not only did they migrated all the sites content seamlessly without any downtime, my visitors could not feel anything during the transition, but they even provide valuable information on the possible ways to improve my site(speed&seo). I highly appreciated the staff, as they are truly working from the perspective of customers, not just sales.
HostGator doesn't give the option of creating automatically generated backups. You can make an instant manual backup and you can then use this backup file to restore your account on our servers if need be. There is a paid upgrade called CodeGuard, it creates daily automated website backups for all your web files and databases with a 1-click restore.
Bluehost offers multiple website hosting options to fit the various needs and budgets of our customers. Shared Hosting, Cloud Hosting, VPS Hosting, and Dedicated Hosting are our standard options, however we also offer specialized hosting for specific website building applications like WordPress and WooCommerce. Each platform is built on reliable, high-performance servers and is supported by our 24/7 expert support teams
Started with 5 blogs with different topics. After one and a half year of my journey, three blogs disabled by Google.  Here my mind is blank. What next. Started hunting for better solutions for my journey. One of the Facebook friends suggested and introduced Self-hosted WordPress hosting. He configured everything for me. Again started my second journey. After three months the hosting service stopped my blog. Again another break on my journey.
Eventhough their technical support representative is friendly. I contacted them about what seems to be complicated/advanced problem. six of their representative was either unable to present solution or had made assumption solutions which did not fix the problem. 8 hour of email/telephone marathon ensued, escalating all the way to manager. Turns out the manager knew the solution.

Although this hosting company gets a few mixed reviews, they come recommended by WordPress, which is one of the most popular blogging platforms. The hosting company also offers a WordPress auto-install, which makes getting set up quick and easy for someone without a lot of webdesign experience. Unlimited disk space and bandwidth transfer are also a nice addition. Rates start at $4.95/month (if you pay in advance), so it is also reasonably priced for someone trying things out.
As previously mentioned, Bluehost also tops the charts in server hosting — offering fantastic performance at competitive prices. With two to four cores and guaranteed resources, your virtual or dedicated server will be performant, powerful, and online virtually 24/7. The Bluehost team leverages industry-leading open-source technologies, such as KVM and OpenStack, to eke out as much performance as possible, leaving you with the utmost flexibility and reliability. Sold? VPS and dedicated plans include instant provisioning, because waiting for your server is so 2000s.
Any business grows over time, and it demands more efforts and more resources. Same will be the case with your business website. Over time, as your business expands and its scope, services and the number of visitors increases, your server requirements changes too. At this stage, you may want to subscribe to a higher plan with more server space, features, and security.
One thing that is missing is the ticket based support system. Bluehost recently decided to eliminate ticket based support to focus on personal approach of live chat and phone based support. However, some users may still miss the ticket based support system which is particularly good if your issue cannot be resolved in one live chat or phone session.
With Bluehost, you’ll have an easy and smooth time building, customizing, and managing your website whether you’re a newbie who needs a bit of hand-holding or an experienced individual who knows his/her way around the nooks and crannies of website creation and management. And this is all thanks to the multiple site tools that Bluehost puts at your disposal.

I've used Bluehost for quite awhile. They said I was hacked once in 2016 and my accounts were all frozen and taken offline while I backed up my files and deleted them from the server. They couldn't show me proof of anything and offered a pay service of theirs to do a sweep, clean and check, which I declined. That was really the only major issue I ever had with them. Otherwise, their web hosting services and options have been a great solution.
I then had to create a ticket and it took 4 days to get an update on the ticket. As well, in terms of page speed, the "Server response time" is always above 1 second, which is way above the Google Page Speed recommended limit of 300ms, and this is with cloud hosting which is supposed to be fast. All in all, if you haven't chosen yet, don't choose bluehost.
Bluehost offers 3 shared hosting plans – Basic, Plus and Prime. These plans are Linux based. There are no Windows server based hosting plans in Bluehost’s line of offering. These shared hosting packages are available for yearly, 2 years, 3 years or 5 years terms. There is no option to choose a monthly billing. The details of regular price and our discounted coupon price for each of these plans are in the table below.
Bluehost’s support team is an area that gets mixed reviews. Many of their clients report positive experiences with service agents who were friendly, helpful, and quick to action. Unfortunately, you will also find a fair number of customers who were unable to get the help they needed even after several phone calls. With that in mind here are some of the pros and cons of Bluehost’s support:
For a week I kept trying to get support to help with this, but they had no idea what the problem was. Suddenly they shut down my account because all those problems I was having were excessive server requests (from some change they did but never acknowledged. It's had problems ever since, including getting shut down twice more, the entire database disappearing twice, due to one of their automatic processes, and deleting all the backups.
During my last semester of teaching I was approached by one of my students who said he could optimize my site and get many more readers quickly, but found some security flaws in the site which should be fixed first. He offered to fix it himself for free, but first I contacted support. They did not do much and claimed the site was in good standing with security.
If you are looking to compare hosting providers solely by price, you can compare the prices of their hosting plans. Choose the service type you are looking for (shared, cloud, wordpress, etc…) and compare the prices of each of their plans. Choose wisely and analyze the value of the hosting provider of your preference, not only go with the price label.

Comes with a free SSL certificate, a WordPress custom designed control panel and CloudFlare CDN is built directly into your account for free without any coding. Premium managed WP hosting comes with pre-installation of ManageWP, advanced security features such as daily scans for malware and vulnerabilities. SiteLock Security, Advanced CDN & SiteLock WAF. Dedicated backup storage and automated backups.
Not only is the platform affordable, it also provides lower-tier users with advanced features and excellent support as it would advanced ones. What’s great with the service is that it can help you exploit the most out of Google and Bing advertising. It also offers in-house services using its own fiber connections, data centers and Linux kernel running on custom servers. Bluehost’s web hosting plans are quite generous especially in terms of bandwidth. These packages entail extremely high bandwidths and storage space at very low prices.
We realize that when you make a decision to buy Hosting Services it’s important not only to see how experts evaluate it in their reviews, but also to find out if the real people and companies that buy it are actually satisfied with the product. That’s why we’ve created our behavior-based Customer Satisfaction Algorithm™ that gathers customer reviews, comments and Bluehost reviews across a wide range of social media sites. The data is then presented in an easy to digest form showing how many people had positive and negative experience with Bluehost. With that information at hand you should be equipped to make an informed buying decision that you won’t regret.

With Bluehost, you’ll have an easy and smooth time building, customizing, and managing your website whether you’re a newbie who needs a bit of hand-holding or an experienced individual who knows his/her way around the nooks and crannies of website creation and management. It took me 20 to 30 minutes in a chat queue and another 15 or 20 minutes going back and forth with the person on the other end of the chat to get a simple contact email for bluehost–because there are none published anywhere on their site or online. Not for basic questions–about anything. Not for feeback–about anything. Not for suggestions–about anything.
